In addition to the baseball catching, part of my responsibilities as an umpire includes umpiring and umpiring I am a fairly big guy, 6" 1" 300 pounds, and have a bigger round chest. It fits me perfectly. His is plenty big, but not too big, since it adjusts in multiple locations (he is 5'4" 130 pounds, 28 waist/28 length). I, myself, and other players have been hit directly and by bats without suffering from bruising or permanent injuries. Although the chest plate is sturdy and thick to absorb shock, it is not too stiff to inhibit movement much. There is Velcro on the shoulder pads to allow for easy wear and adjustment.
I bought this for my son after he had used identical gear on travel teams. An excellent chest protector provides excellent protection for both sides of the collarbone and for the bottom ribs. Despite the baseballs' speed and power, my son was able to block them with ease. The straps of the back can be adjusted at multiple points. In his game last week, my nephew tried to catch for the first time and, regardless of his team's loss, he loved the fit, comfort, and protection the Misuno catchers gear offered.
This chest protector is very good. There was only one thing wrong with the prior version my son preferred its design.
I really like the protector and it is very comfortable to wear. Putting together a team with Shin Guards G3 and a Helmet G4. The two go well together.
The catchers will love this piece of gear as it is great quality and great for catching. Having outgrown the youth size chest protector when he was 12, this chest protector is for my son who is 12 years of age and average height for his age. went to a sporting goods store nearby and looked at their selection and the Under Armour protectors they had were the same price as this one and they just felt cheap and didn't fit as In view of the UA gear, (and how it fit him), he looked more like a piece from a cheap Halloween costume that you'd buy for $5-$10. The purchase was fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an.
