I don't think my son will be able to wear the 15" because he is 13 and 5'2", and he wears the 14". If you want to get him an intermediate size, I would suggest you do so.
I checked the label on the newest gear for my son, and it does include the nocsae certification. Make sure that any gear you consider indicates that in the product description and make sure it is clearly noted.
I would like to know the measurement from the neck to the bottom of the waist. Thank you!
A chest protector made of this fabric does not use neoprene. Thanks a lot!

Having searched everywhere online to find if they had this with NOCSAE certification, I purchased it for my high school catcher on a whim. Near the umpire is the certification on the back of the helmet. The padding is strong. While my catcher is wearing this gear, I do not have to worry about him getting hurt.
The equipment for my son's Mizuno Catchers team has been updated. Mizuno Samurai gear won't let him down. He has tried gear from several different manufacturers, but he always sticks to Mizuno. The third set he's bought has the same effect on him as the first two.
There is a problem with the side buckle that makes it difficult to put on and take.
This video is a favourite of my son, who is 16 years old. Due to his height and thinness, I do see him adapting a little bit when he settles into a new Still, it ensures his safety.
