As far as I can tell, it will be I have a catcher who is 5'8" 120 lbs and he can fit into the glove. The adult Rawlings and the adult All star are two good choices as far as tall and skinny gear goes. These both appear to be of solid construction for their sizes.
If you order the wrong size helmet, you'll receive one that is too small or too big. Upon looking at the paperwork I got with the sets, it says that the 2400 is for sizes 7 - Sizes smaller than 240mm or larger than 2510 should be purchased.
According to me, it will fit your son very well. I have a son who is 5' 11" tall and I would not say no if he were an inch shorter. The gear will be a hit with him.
