It's super sturdy and makes a great gift. This item was purchased so that we could use it both ways as a "choke-free" container We have been very happy with the "up" device. Initially, it was incredibly difficult to get them onto the bat handle, but with some stretching and the help of a baseball dad/coach, they were able to get on. No matter what, they are not leaving! Some other kids were also using the balls on the knob of the bat so as to mitigate the impact from hitting the ball wrong by absorbing the shock which comes with it.
