Between buying pepper spray and this, I did some research. I got both in the end, but my Kubotan is my favorite. It's a little large, which some people don't like on their keychains, but it helps me find it in my bag! Nothing compares to the added sense of security it provides. I've watched videos on how to use it (which you should do as well) and have done some light practice with friends to get used to it. It's better than pepper spray in that it can be used against close-range attackers or in situations where you can't use spray because you're restrained. br>br> I hope I never have to use it, but it makes me feel safer when I'm walking to my car late at night or across my college campus. I also like that it can be used to break open car windows in the unlikely event that your vehicle is involved in a collision with deep water. br>br>This is my second purchase, this time in bulk, in case you forget to remove it at the airport. At TSA, they will seize it. As if you didn't already know! Highly recommended for anyone looking for an extra layer of protection, whether they are a girl or a guy.

Until my house was destroyed by a fire. I was lost without it, believe it or not, because I always carried my work keys with the kubaton end tucked into my gun belt, and I was constantly reaching for keys that weren't there after the fire. I found these, and I am VERY pleased with them. My previous one was made of heavy-duty plastic, whereas these are made of a heavy-duty aluminum-type material, making them heavier than my previous one but not excessively so. The best point was 3 for under $10, and I liked the point on the end and the attachment of the key loop on the end. 00! I KNOW the one I had and loved so much before the fire cost me more than that, and there was only one of them, and it wasn't even close to being as good as these. Despite the fact that I enjoyed my previous one, these are far superior - Purchase them immediately!.

The overall quality of the construction is satisfactory. It can be used as a window breaker or a wood center punch. br>It's also questionable in terms of self-defense. This will most likely cause problems in places where weapons are prohibited. The point is fairly dull, so you'll need to use a lot of force to get it to work. br>br>I usually carry a tactical pen with me, and I'd find that more useful because carrying a pen isn't illegal in most places. It also has a more aggressive tip that will be more effective in the event that I need to use it for self-defense. br>br>This will suffice for someone who does not require a tactical pen but still desires a readily available self-defense tool.

Anyone who knows how to use a kubotan understands that they must weigh at least seven pounds. These need to be 8 oz to be effective, but they're only 2 oz. It's a moot point. It took me 11 tries to break through window glass I found in a junkyard; a tactical pen would have been much more effective.
