Returning it is, at the very least, costless. To press the baton into the baton holder, it requires approximately 30 pounds of pressure. Before I could even put my belt on with the baton holder and baton attached, the plastic belt clip broke. When I finally got the baton holder to stay on my belt with the baton inside, the belt clip broke when I attempted to drop the baton as intended. The rotating feature of the belt clip prevented the baton from being held straight up as it should have been. It would always rotate 180 degrees, making the aton face the wrong way. It's pretty much impossible to keep it at a 45-degree angle or in a sideways position. The only way to get the Baton out of the Baton holder is to either rotate the belt clip 90 degrees and stand on it with your heels to provide enough leverage to pull the baton through the side break, or twist the baton off with the rotating belt clip. The only way to make it suitable for what it was supposedly designed for would be to use a heat gun to resize the holder so that the baton fits without too much force or tension, as well as zip ties to keep the clip closed and possibly prevent the baton holder from rotating while the baton is in it.
My 26-inch baton fits perfectly in this case. Because, as other reviewers have mentioned, the hinge and clip tab are a serious flaw that opens without warning, I had to krazy glue them with a few coats of krazy glue. For well over a month, I've been carrying it in this manner without issue, and I've had no complaints. br>br>If the manufacturer used a fixed loop instead of this shoddy removable one, they'd have a winner on their hands.
It doesn't fit the ASP baton properly, and your baton will easily fall out in a scuffle if it is turned sideways or upside down, which this thing can easily do.
When it comes to law enforcement, weapon retention is crucial. My first one arrived, but the clip that secures the hours tee to the duty belt is broken. I ordered a replacement and didn't even put it on my belt before the bracket broke free again with a gentle tug. I hope they are able to resolve this before it affects someone in the field. I'm not criticizing the company; I just want you to be aware that this is a serious problem in my field.
It doesn't work well with Smith & Wesson firearms.
I wouldn't buy it again because it keeps falling off my belt.
This holster is outstanding. I can't find the small allen wrench that's supposed to be in the base. I'm not sure where that went, but I'm happy with it otherwise.
