Questions & Answers
I've used the Venum impact gloves for both sparring and heavy bag workouts, and they work well in both situations.
I'm not sure, but they seem to be very comfy and safe.
The ounce of a glove usually refers to the amount of padding, not the size; however, some gloves may have a small size difference; in that case, I would recommend a 16oz glove.
It's made entirely of synthetic materials.

I upgraded from a pair of Hawk boxing gloves that I purchased on Amazon for $20. I haven't worn it yet with the venums, but it's a lovely glove so far. Heck, it's so lovely that I don't want to use them. The level of quality is a significant improvement over the Hawks. It's the equivalent of upgrading from a Honda to a BMW or an Audi. If something goes wrong with them, I'll post an update, but I doubt it. Anyone would benefit from these.
The molding began to move. I have four pairs of venum gloves, and this is my favorite design, though it isn't the best in terms of craftsmanship or durability. The inner lining feels cheap, and I already have a hole where my middle finger is in the right glove's inner lining. The left glove's molding shifted after sitting in my bag for a few days, and it now appears to be lopsided. I train with them three times per week. (Heavy bag, mitts, noodles, cobra bag, and double-ended bag) (For sparring, I have a different pair. ) My other venum gloves are holding up well, so I'm not sure if it's just a bad glove.
When I work with new pad holders, my thumb catches and hurts because they don't hold the thai pad for hooks properly. This has never happened to me with any other gloves. br>br>Aside from that, they look good, feel good, and have some extra palm padding, which is a nice touch. Although I prefer other gloves, these are excellent padwork gloves.
I've never used Venom before; I usually purchase Title Gel. I am 115 pounds and the 10 oz gloves were far too small for me, cutting into my knuckles on my power hand. I ordered the 12 oz and returned the 10, the 12 was a much better fit. I get a lot of compliments because of the style. The impact absorption is adequate; however, because they are made of foam, they handle similarly to foam. We'll see how long they last over time.
At first glance, I thought these would be ideal; everything was in place and the padding was excellent. These gloves were proven to be incorrect after a 45-minute session on the bags. As the temperature rose, the insides turned to mush. Between my fingers, I could feel the inner material bunching up. It was impossible to take them off and on; if you're from a colder climate, it's like having wet hands and trying to put on cheap winter gloves with your fingers when the insides are turned out. br>br>They say the hand stitched ones have better insides, but I'm not willing to pay the extra money to find out. For bag work, I'll switch to a different brand and keep my 80-dollar, three-year-old Title Ignite gloves (wish they still made them). br>br>The extra star was given because the gloves were attractive and came in a variety of weights.
The gloves are a dull dark gray rather than the bright silver shown in the picture (which isn't a big deal). They're well-made, but I had to return them due to a strong chemical odor that was both industrial and fishy - It's most likely from the paint or other materials they use on the gloves. I tried to air them out in the closet, but it only made my entire room smell bad. I switched brands and bought something else.
It's a great fit and has lasted me over 6 months of daily bag and pad work.
For heavy bag training, I decided to take a "middle of the road" approach. I really like how it turned out. Overall, it's a 4/5 in terms of comfort, and it's a good deal. Regrettably, the right inside liner has come undone. I have a feeling the right glove will soon be retired. My fingers are now rubbing against the outer material, which will eventually wear away. Two times a week, I go to the boxing gym. These were only good for two months. Those 'trying it out' or just in a cardio class and don't want to spend $150 on Hayabusas will appreciate this glove. However, if you're serious about the heavy bag, set aside another $75 and buy the hayabusas.
