Questions & Answers
The measurements can be found in the photograph.
A 4 is what I'd go for. When you receive it, wash it hot and dry it on high heat, and it should fit comfortably.
You should be able to get away with wearing a size 5.
We've recently restocked on size 4's. Right now, you should be able to place an order.

The natural color is one of my favorites. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. The gi is not equipped with side ties. Those are something I miss; During class, it gapes open, and I have to tug it shut. (Since they're on the inside, it'll be easy for me to attach my own. ) )br>The belt is a little frayed; In the knot area, I can see where it's stretched out a little. br>br>Pros: gi could be longer (but I'm tall for the size, see below)br>br>Cons: gi could be longer (but I'm tall for the size, see below)br>br> br>While it is unlikely to last as long as more durable belts, it does keep the buckle closed better than stiffer belts. br>The gi is remarkably well-made, with reinforced fabric sewn into the underarms and on the lapels. area for grabbing (I say surprisingly because it was the cheapest gi I could find in this style;) I only had to pay $55. )br>(Even after being drip dried, the gi fabric is soft and comfortable! (My sensei has one that looks exactly like it, but I believe it was a more expensive one; he drip-dries his and claims that people have commented on how scratchy it is. ) This is not the case! )br>I like the natural color, which a friend suggested would look better on my fair skin than a stark white, and I agree. br>I really like how it fits! In terms of fit, br>br> I'm a tall woman, 5' 10", who wears a size 6 pant and a medium shirt, and I wanted a slim fit because I was tired of my first gi, which was a size 4 and was too swimmy and oversized, with shoulders cut for a man's shoulders. For this one, I went down to a size 2. It works! My pants are capris, and my gi is short in the arms, but that is desirable for my martial art style (Aikido). The gi could be a little longer (perhaps I shouldn't have dried it on low heat that one time). I now hang the pants and gi to dry, and they're actually quite comfortable and soft. They're not scratchy after hanging dry, and if they are, it's only slightly noticeable when worn. The pants are a little tight at first, but they loosen up with wear and washing, and then they're perfect, and I love the slim look. I'm going to try another brand for a longer gi because it rides up a little, but I still like it. br>br>Really, for the price, it's fantastic!! (My total cost was $55. ).
Like most new gis, it starts out large, so I washed it once. The shorter drawstrings on the pants were the first thing I noticed, making a good knot more difficult to achieve. Although I am not overweight, I believe that this could be a problem for those who have a large stomach. I replaced the drawstring with one from an old pair of torn-up gi's pants and discovered that this gi's was 4" shorter than mine. br>Though it's only been one day, I've noticed that the top body gi has softened, while the pants remain stiff. I'm not aware of the problem until after I've removed it from my training.
This gi has the feel of a high-end product. I bought a size 5 as recommended, but it's a little big on me at 160 pounds and 5'10". Prior to washing in hot water and drying, the pants were about 6 inches too long. It's still too big but wearable after six washes. I'll order a size 4 next time because it's so much softer than the bleached gis I've worn before.
This was purchased for an aikido gi that was light in weight. The material is soft and comfortable to wear. I wouldn't use this for judo because I believe it would be too light. Advantages: br>br>
- br>Soft and comfortable - - There are no logos on this page. br> br>Relatively well cutbr> - Cons: Pricebr>br>Pricebr>br>Pricebr>br>Pricebr>b
- It shrinks a little more than you might expect. I usually buy a 4 and shrink it down to fit in other brands. My wife usually wears a size 3 and then shrinks to fit. In this case, the gi fits my wife better than it does me after shrinking.
- The fabric on the pants puckers as a result of the shrinkage. It's not a major issue, but it does result in a wrinkled appearance.
If your dojo doesn't have air conditioning, this heavy cotton material can also be used as a sauna suit. Dbr>Keep in mind that even with a dryer, it takes a long time to dry, so if you go to class frequently, you may want to keep a spare on hand.
The unbleached version is nice and large.
This is a great light-weight Gi. Hopefully, it will be able to withstand the test of time.
I ordered a size 7 and it is extremely long (exactly as they stated). Excellent craftsmanship. Prior to hemming, wash the fabric. It shrank a bit.
