I'm 5'7" and weigh 145 pounds, so it doesn't fit right. I'm a 2 according to size chat. I ordered a size 2 and it was a lot smaller than I expected.
I'm 5' 7" and weigh 162 pounds, and I'm wearing 32" waist/30" length pants with a Large (40" chest) shirt. So I'm somewhere between a size 3 and a size 4, as far as I can tell. I ordered a size 3 for aikido, and all of the measurements are on the small side - It would be too small in any dimension, though it would fit, and the jacket would have plenty of room. You'd need a size 4 for the pants, and a size 4 for the jacket. (I have a size 4 from another brand that is too big for me - A 3 would probably be ideal for me. 5).
I'm a judo Sensei, and I'm here to help you! It doesn't shrink very much: ) excellent value for money
The gi is definitely suitable for tournaments; all of the measurements are correct; however, because it is not on the list, you will have to inquire as to whether they will accept it!

First and foremost, this is NOT an IJF certified gi in any way, shape, or form. Anyone competing at a national or international level will be aware of this, but anyone looking to use this marketing terminology as a selling point should be aware that the person who created the marketing for this product is either ignorant or lying. br>br>This is not a judo gi, but it is a soft, light-weight martial arts uniform. It's far too thin to be used for judo seriously. Coming from years of wearing heavy, hot, abrasive gis, I prefer light, comfortable single weaves, but this one is just too thin and won't last. The sizing chart is off by a whole size; I should be a size 3 according to the chart. I believe I would be a good fit for a size 4, but they are sold out at the time of writing, and after seeing it in person, I would not order it in that size again. br>br>Some of your points are valid. The gi looks nice, and I think the fit will be good if you get the right size; many judo gis are cut too generously to accommodate wildly varying body shapes and sizes; this is definitely a slimmer fitting gi. It's more like a BJJ cut than a judo cut, which is great for those of us who are taller and thinner. br>br>Overall, I'd pick a Fuji single weave any day of the week over this. Don't be fooled by the IJF marketing hype or the "cool" branding on the skirt. If you're listening, Elite Sports, I think you've hit on something with the cut and look of this gi, but the fabric should be at least 450gsm, and please don't advertise it as an IJF gi.
I purchased this gi because I thought a double weave for $50 was a good deal. I received it in the mail and promptly returned it the next day. It's not a bad uniform, but after trying it on, I decided it wasn't the judo gi for me. It's too thin in general. For the following observations, I used a Fuji single weave gi as a point of reference: Good: br>br>
> br>Quick Shippingbr> Uniform with a nice appearancebr> The loops on the drawstring are well-designed. br>br>Meh br>br>Meh br>br>Meh br
> It doesn't feel like a double weave, and it's about the same weight as my current gi, but it's noticeably less substantial.
> The extra collar thickness that is advertised adds only about a centimeter to the overall length. I'm not sure if that will make it significantly more difficult to grip as advertised. br>br>Contrary to popular belief,
> Pants are astonishment-inducingly skinny. It has a TKD or Karate-like feel to it. The material has a slight translucency to it.
> The size runs a little bigger than the size chart shows. br>br>Since this gi is advertised as IJF approved, my theory is that it was designed with an Olympic ruleset in mind, where pant thickness may not be a factor because you aren't allowed to interfere with your opponent's legs. I'm sure the material is durable, but I'm not convinced it will hold up to regular wear and tear. I wrestle in a sport that allows for leg manipulations, so this is a bigger issue for me. Above all, I wanted a new gi in the first place because my old pair was too big for me, so buying one that is too big for me defeats the purpose. I believe a size down would be a better fit, but the sleeves would be too short; I'm sure this uniform would be perfect for someone else; it's just not what I'm looking for.
Judogi at its finest! This gi is a tad slimmer than the one I have from Adidas. Which I like because it means my opponent has less material to grab! It's very relaxing. Despite the fact that it specifies pre-, It has shrunk and will continue to shrink if washed and dried. I was able to dry the pants after they had been wet for two days. I wanted 3 inches because I like my pants to be a little shorter so I don't trip over them. I haven't washed the jacket yet, but it will be hung to dry because it fits me perfectly. DRAWBACKS is a term that is used to describe a situation in which It comes with a belt that is far too small and thick to be useful. The drawstring on the pants is also far too short, and I can barely get a single tie on it during practice, so I had to purchase a separate, longer belt. I'm not going to be able to tie a double knot under any circumstances. I'm 5'5", 170 pounds, and have a 33" waist, so I'm not overly chubby. But it's not a big deal; I just got a new drawstring and re-tied the bag. So a couple of modifications and this gi is perfect for me. I would strongly suggest it.
In terms of fit, I'm 6' tall, 205 pounds, 34" inseam, and have freakishly long orangutan arms. br>br>One thing I noticed was the reinforced layer around the collar, which is a nice touch reinforcing where most of the gripping happens. br>br> I ordered a size 5 and it fits well in the arms, but the pants are a little long and baggy. I'd probably go for a 4, but the arms on a 4 are probably too short for me. So it's more of a standard-fit gi than a long-fit gi. limbed. I'm going to wash it for the first time tonight, and I'm thinking about putting the pants in the dryer to tighten them up a little. It's a good-looking gi for a reasonable price, but if you're like me and have long limbs, it might not fit perfectly.
Light Gi is good for practice, but check for competition quality as I'm not sure if it'll pass. This is an excellent place to train.
This is a fantastic gi to have in your collection. The quality is excellent for the price, and it has withstood Judo abuse exceptionally well. I'm using this as a training gi (arms seem a little tight to pass IJF regulations), but it's a great go-to for those weeks when you're on the mat more than you're off. to gi. Absolutely worth it in terms of bang for your buck.
To begin, I'll discuss fitness: My height and weight are 5'11" and 168 pounds, respectively. with arms that are longer Due to sleeve lengths, I usually have trouble finding gis that fit. The first thing I noticed about this gi is that the sleeves are long enough to keep me from being engulfed by the rest of the gi. Even if I lose a little weight, I'll still be able to compete in local tournaments. br>br>Because it's a lightweight gi, it's ideal for the warmer months. The trousers are very comfortable. This is a single loop design for those of you who prefer to wear your pants. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> The gi is still in good condition a month later. It has a slimmer fit than the Fuji.
These gi's are not only light, but they're also tough. Fits perfectly and is very easy to clean.
