The Curt wiring harness is not a good buy. For roughly one month, the program worked and then stopped. Jeep's factory kit was so much better than the stock one I swapped out and it was worth every penny!

It's unfortunate that this wiring for my Chrysler Town & Country would not work It is not as easy to install in the Country as it is in the Jeep, which is in So that's all I have to say. It is as simple as plugging in and playing. In this one, a converter connects to the car's battery through both taillights and a wire runs from there to the taillights. I managed to jump start my battery after it was drained by the connection. It ultimately failed to work right, so I took it to a dealership ($152 the first time, $232 the second time). Find a company that installs these things and then have them do it. It should be covered by the company for about 30 days.
I have no issues. It works fine.
A fairly simple installation procedure is involved in this product. In terms of running the wire across the bottom of the car to the battery, it took me more time than the rest of the wiring. Because, when LED trailer taillights are connected, they illuminate slightly instead of five stars, I gave this product four out of five stars. It is still possible to do that even if you turn off the car.
My 2006 Ford Freestyle was fitted with the product as advertised and worked without a hitch. It was a perfect fit and the connections were correct. It took about 30 minutes to install the battery, but I didn't go back to the old one since I replaced one that was already faulty After three years of use, the connector stopped working.
Purchased for a Chrysler Town and Country. It was about one year ago that I visited that country. The pain appears to be connected to the battery, as described by others. It is also a little short for the wire to be able to reach both taillights underneath. I actually had to go on top of the bumper to reach it. As of right now, the unit is dead. Lighting is always on due to a shorted black box. Curt was contacted to replace the product. We will let you know if their products are backed by a guarantee.
While this wiring harness works, it is still far from being a plug and play system. It would be nearly impossible to run a wire from the battery to these stow n go devices without a life. Yet it works very well and costs much less than the Chrysler dealership, who wanted more than.
This is an easy to install program. Brake lights are directly connected to the unit. A minimal amount of splicing has been done. When it came time to zip tie up the wires, finding the right place was the hardest part.
My 2011 Jeep Patriot is now equipped with this. Putting it in took about an hour and a half and was quite simple to do. This kit works just as well as the factory kit but it costs about a quarter of what the factory kit does.
