This is for my brother and his Quarter Horse gelding, which I purchased. I would think it would be wide enough on the sides, but the front clip to the cinch is where I think you would be cutting it close. His horse is about 15 hands but not super heavy like some QHs; he's more on the slender side. I would think it would be wide enough on the sides, but the front clip to the cinch is where I think you would be cutting it close. I suppose it all boils down to how wide your horse's shoulders are. I'd keep moving if it was muscular and had a wide stance. My opinion is as follows:
Selected User Reviews For Weaver Leather Working Tack Breast Collar
The leather appearance is flawless in its appearance, 100% supple and thick! The stitching is excellent, with meticulous attention to detail and no sloppiness. I shopped for a long time and was hesitant to purchase because the price was higher than some other brands with inferior materials and workmanship, but I wanted American-made tack that could be used in the field. In the end, here's what it all boils down to: This Weaver "Working Tack Pulling Breast Collar" is the best you can get if you want a serious piece of gear that is also beautiful and will last a lifetime.
I've never used a pulling collar before. My horse preferred it to a traditional breastcollar by a long shot. He was able to move his shoulders more freely, and I was able to adjust the collar so that it didn't press against his throat, which was a problem I'd previously experienced with other collars. The leather is thick and durable, with good stitching. It looks like it will last a long time, and the leather was already prepped. It had been oiled, making it softer than most new leather. This product comes highly recommended from me.
I haven't used it yet because I just received it today, but it appears to be a good quality product that has already softened rather than being stiff. Perfect.
It's a super soft and supple leather that goes perfectly with my tack. I would strongly suggest it!.
I had to punch a few more holes because my mare is small, but I love the quality. It's built to last, with thick, supple straps. It's plain, which goes well with my saddle, which is also plain.
Weaver products are always a safe bet. It has a nice appearance, a nice feel, and a reasonable price.
A stunning breast collar with a lot of weight. Much softer and heavier than I expected, with a supple, worn-in texture. This is an excellent piece of gear. I'm now addicted to Hermann Oak leather goods! Also, Amazon has a great deal on it!.
I'm very pleased with it, and the leather is of excellent quality. This is a nice heavy oiled leather that looks fantastic on my mule!.
