I don't have one of these, but as a saddle maker and horseback rider, I've built something similar to safely transport an axe on my pack horse. To secure the sheath to the pack saddle while allowing the axe to be quickly and easily accessible, I simply cut two parallel cuts on the backside of the sheath a few inches apart and on the same plane as the handle, allowing me to insert a rope or strap to secure it to the pack while tucking the axe's long handle under the lashing rope that's used to lash down the manty (the outer canvas cover) to keep it from flopping around. When I need the axe, I simply open the sheath's snaps and pull the axe out, leaving the sheath on the pack, and then slide it back in, making sure to tuck the handle under some rope. br>I hope that this information is useful.
Yes, any double-bit axe with a total width of less than 10 inches and a height of less than 5 inches will fit into this. The number of the axe I use is nine. 5 x 4 and, despite being slightly loose on the inside, it has never come out by itself. Mine has a 20-inch handle, but that isn't a consideration. On the back, I added rings for a strap or to secure it to a backpack, atv, etc. I use this thing a lot, and if it ever breaks, I'll definitely buy another one. I'll try to include some images...hope this is of assistance.
The sheath measures 11w x 6h in dimensions. It's a perfect fit for my ax, but I'm not sure how loose it'll be on yours.
To increase the size of the axe, wrap it around the handle. Leather can be softened by soaking it in water. ax to be used Allow time for drying. snug fit. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, and

This is a nice double-bit axe scabbard that is well-made and fits perfectly. To protect the leather from moisture, I simply need to oil and wax it. This is something you'll probably have to do a couple of times a year, but it should last forever. This is what I consider routine leather maintenance.
This sheath is quite large. A Council Tool double bit saddle axe, for example, is far too big for it. However, it's a near-perfect match for the Collins Double Bit "Michigan" axe. br>It's very well made, and I expect it to last for a long time. Apply some oil to the leather to make it easier to close the cover. br>It's highly suggested!.
Except for one worn-out double bit, this product is too small to fit any of my double bits. However, it required a case. Built well, but if you're into old Kelly's or Collins, you'll want to look elsewhere.
This was purchased for the restoration of an old Kelley Works double bit. This is a sturdy leather sheath that fits well and will provide years of protection. Because it's stiff, I rubbed it down with a couple of coats of Vasoline, which helped a lot. This should fit a double bit that is much bigger than the one I have.
Don't hesitate to purchase. I purchased a double-headed axe on Amazon and wanted to be able to carry it inside my vehicle without scuffing or cutting other items or the interior of my vehicle. This cover gets the job done. br>br> Sturdy rivets and thick leather The product is of excellent quality.
The leather is good, but the product is too large for my double-bladed axe. On the plus side, once you apply leather conditioner to it and soak it in, it will last for a long time. Before you snap the leather, work it in. The quality of the snaps isn't great.
This is very high quality leather; it's tough and will take some time to break in, but it'll last a lifetime if properly cared for. br>The sheath measurements are spot on; it's about an inch too long for my axe, but it'll suffice. br>I'd buy it again if I needed to, but I doubt I will.
The quality of the product and the thickness of the leather are excellent. Your axe will be safe with it. Get some mink oil if you don't have any already.
