I believe the headstall will fit your appaloosa because it has numerous adjustments on both sides. My quarter horse has a small muzzle but a large jaw (typical QH head), so it was a perfect fit for her.

A chin strap was not included, despite the fact that it was not advertised as part of the headstall. When I first opened the package, I was taken aback. My husband had to cannibalize a keeper from an older piece of equipment, cut the keeper off this headstall, replace it, and make a chin strap for the headstall out of an older black leather throat latch from a broken bridle. Aside from that, it's very useful, and the leather appears to be well-stitched. My bay paint mini also looks great with the black headstall. It appears to be a positive experience for him.
This bridle for my miniature horse was exactly what I needed. The leather is of excellent quality, not stiff like that of a low-cost leather. The stitching is nice, and I like how the white stitching contrasts with the black. On my miniature horse, it looks really nice. Miniature horses have a difficult time with sizing, as they are either too small or too big. This was a great solution. The diameter of my mini's head is 28 inches. Measure your miniature's head from the end of the leather (where the bit hooks on) all the way up and over to the other side, then down to the end (where the bit hooks). It can go one hole smaller or three holes larger (each hole being about one inch in diameter). apart). The hardware is in excellent condition. The only thing that wasn't quite right was the throat latch, which was far too long (better than too short). Simply cut or punch more holes. It looks good, but I had to oil it heavily in order for the pieces to fit through the keepers and for it to be flexible enough not to irritate my horse. The latch on the throat is also a little short. It's at the very end of the course.

Very well-made! Sturdy. It works well for my mare, who requires a narrow brow band because wider ones rub her ears and are too close to her eyes. For a reasonable price, excellent quality!.
The leather is of excellent quality and is extremely attractive. Bit straps are flat head screws that should be avoided at all costs. The instructions were difficult to follow if you were doing it for the first time; I had done it before but ended up using an existing bridle to figure out how to put it together. Splayed out, it just looks odd.
Fits our mini perfectly, and it's a great value at under $20!.
