It's about a half-inch wide, and I agree with Susan that the length is appropriate. I, too, have a significant amount of leftovers. The way it attaches to the bit, in my opinion, is the best feature. I've lost a lot of hooks, but I'm not worried about it anymore!
It's more like 15" in length. For my gelding, I have a few extra links. This was ideal for him because I couldn't find a chain that was long enough for him.
Yes, the clips are removable on both sides, allowing you to make it as short as you want it without having one side dangle too long.
I'm not sure, but I believe hardware stores would stock the clips.

When I lost a s hook thing, I had to replace an old one. This chain gave me a lot of pleasure. It's a mix of heavy and smooth metal. It's a step up from the one that came with it. On both ends, there is a spring-loaded connector chain. This has made me very happy. It only took a few days for it to arrive.
It wasn't a Classic Equine chain; instead, it was a Martin brand chain, which is fine because it's the same length as the Classic Equine chain as advertised, but it wasn't what I was looking for. I'd appreciate it if the description corresponded to the product being sold.
Unfortunately, I mistook SS for stainless steel in the description. Because I assumed it was stainless steel, I paid more than I would have for a regular curb. When I first used it, it became rusted.
It's fantastic.
I ordered this chain because the old curb chain was just a tad too tight. I really like the fact that I can change it. Thanks.
It's incredibly simple to adjust, and it's the only chin strap that fits my bit.
It's dense and substantial. It has a total of 20 links, making it difficult to double (I wish there were 21).
On my Myler bit, I'm using it as a curb chain. It's fantastic! There will be no more misplaced hooks or loose curb chains while riding.
