The spurs on my daughter's horse are actually her first pair of spurs since she is now able to use them at rodeos when she rides her horses. While I expected to have more leverage using the bumper and rowels on the side, it didn't work as well as I had hoped. Rowels are also very sharp, and I have to be careful not to cut For the past 2 years, I used regular spurs without harm to my feet however, these haven't posed the same problem.

if you don't want them as harsh, wrap some ducktape around them

In the end, the horses were cut. It is a thin set of rowels. This is not something I would recommend.
