I've ridden in Dover, SmartPak, Horze, and even the "blessed" Tailed Sportsmans breeches, but none have come close to the comfort, durability, quality, and presentation of these. br>I own this pair as well as a beige pair that I bought for school, but BOY WAS I WRONG - I used to believe they were only suitable for school! This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO They have a fantastic appearance and are very easy to clean. They're light enough to wear on hot days but warm enough to wear in the winter.
Although the material is a little heavier than expected, it appears to be of good quality. I'm in the middle of a size range, so I went up a size. Although it is a little large, I would prefer it to be small. I'm a size 8-10 depending on the brand, so I went with a 32.
I've used them on a couple of 50-mile endurance rides and they've performed admirably. They have pockets (not those tiny ones where you can't put anything) and the knee patches don't bunch up like other knee patches do. The only thing about it that I don't like is the higher waist, but that's just my opinion. It's highly suggested!.
PROS:
- stretches a lotbr> a pleasant experience to ride inbr>- For the price, it's a steal. br>- Cons: The material isn't particularly hot or thick. br>br>
- These will be my new go-to breeches for schooling and possibly showing depending on how tan their tan breech is. br>br>Can see outlines of anything underneath (tucked in shirt, underwear, etc. )br>br>These will be my new go-to breeches for schooling and possibly showing depending on how tan their tan breech is. I got the gray breeches, and I'm in love with them! I was afraid I'd have to return them because I don't like ordering clothes online without trying them on, but the size chart pretty much matched what it said. I usually wear a size 26-28. 28 because my weight fluctuates and I bloat a lot due to endo and IBS, but the 28 were slightly too big for me and you can see the fabric folding over in the pictures I've included once I rode in them. I decided to keep these for days when my abdomen is swollen and I need to ride. I haven't washed them yet, so I'll update this review once I do. Because I air dry my breeches, I don't anticipate a significant size change. They appear to be a little lighter than the picture, which is great because I wanted something that looked like white but wasn't quite as bright; the item description also describes the breeches as "winter weight," and they are surprisingly light and thin compared to some of my other breeches. My Piper Mid-Season Rise breeches are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more substantial I was relieved that the material wasn't too heavy or thick, as it allowed me to wear my boots with ease. Overall, these are excellent value for money, and I plan to purchase more. However, for a better fit, I'll probably go down to a size 26. For reference, I am 5'2" tall and weigh between 102 and 114 pounds. 107 lbs. (current weight: 107 lbs. ) 103).
We've previously purchased riding pants for a similar price, but these pants look and feel much better. So far, the black hasn't faded after about 5 washes. We would definitely order again because the grip on the thighs is sleek and just the right thickness, and the pants fit true to size.
I put them through the squat test and found that they are not see-through. Despite the fact that I haven't worn them yet, they appear to be of good quality. The knee patches are the only thing that differs from photos. They're not as dark as the pictures on the internet suggest - They're totally transparent and gleaming. The knee patches have a great deal of traction. In the saddle, I'm not sure if that'll be a good thing or not. My only criticism is that the pocket lining can be seen through the pants (which isn't a major flaw). I'm 6' tall, and these are the longest riding pants I own. Based on my personal experience with them, I would definitely recommend them. We'll see how they hold up after a few rides and a thorough cleaning.
Inseams are 34 inches. And the dark grey 28 is a perfect match! br>br>Because of the exorbitant prices and the fact that I don't show often enough to warrant them, I haven't purchased many riding pants. I've only bought a few in previous years because they were on a budget, and the quality wasn't great and the fit was always a little off. I wanted to try riding pants again last summer, and these tights caught my eye (and were surprisingly affordable), so I ordered a pair. and then there was another. They were absolutely fantastic. br>br>Living in Michigan, our summers are short, so I quickly found myself wanting something similar, but a little thicker for the cooler temps (the tights were great for breathability, but not for holding heat - see below). This is great for a summer tight, but not so much for a Michigan fall! This time, I didn't think twice about looking up this brand to see what they had in a thicker fabric. These were originally ordered in a size 26, but I returned for a size 28. br>br>I can't say enough about how nice these breeches are for the price: they're long enough, they stretch beautifully (but don't lose shape or shrink), they're cute with the different colors and small stitching details, and they're flattering and comfortable for once! The suede knee patches appear to be long-lasting, and the breeches are made of a nice thick fabric that doesn't catch horse hair. In addition, they have pockets that can be used! Still, I think I prefer my thigh pockets for riding (much like their tights). It's incredible to have pockets. These pants are truly stunning, and I wouldn't hesitate to wear them out on the town or to a show. br>br>Please keep in mind that these are not winter breeches. Temperatures must be in the range of 50-100 degrees Fahrenheit. I need a temperature of around 75 degrees to be comfortable, but I've worn them on both hot and cold days with no problems. More colors, a *slightly* lower waist option, and an actual winter/insulated/windproof pant are just a few of my requests for this brand! br>br>(It's not a super, super high rise, but it's a little higher than I prefer)br>br>Overall, if I ever need more breeches or know someone who does, I'll buy these. I'll point them in the direction of HR Farms!.
