In order to find out what was going on, I contacted the seller & It was really nice. They told me the default bladders do this sometimes and that it happens sometimes to all of them. I received a replacement free of charge right away. Compared to the default one, this replacement was definitely better. It pumped up correctly this time. The seller even sent a tutorial video that gave decent tips on how to pump correctly. Please re-read The bag laces need to be tied. I found that to be very helpful.
