This mount is of excellent quality, and I am extremely pleased with it. My kids swing side to side on the climbing rope in our garage, so I needed something I knew could withstand the abuse. I did put a board between the mount and the drywall because I was worried it would flex and dig into the drywall or that I wouldn't be able to get it as tight as I wanted. It works great and I've had no problems with it; you can tell it's a well-made product just by holding it; I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another if I needed one.
In my basement, I made my own suspended pulley system using these brackets. For exercise, I use a pull-up bar and a TRX-like system; I'm 160 pounds, and two of these can easily support the bar and my weight. In my basement, I put these in between the joists. Pilot holes were made with a 7/32" drill bit.
The hook is sufficiently strong. There are no directions. As stated in the question A For the concrete lag bolts, I used a 1/2" drill bit. The lag bolt was fully expanded to. . . you guessed it, 1/2". . . and it easily pulled out. Now that I've created a large hole in my floor, I'll need to purchase traditional concrete anchors. Perhaps a 3/8 or 7/16 bit would suffice, but these bolts are a pain to work with. . . and yes, I am aware of the situation.
We haven't put them in yet, but we're very excited to do so! They were purchased with the intention of hanging hammocks in the children's rooms (as an added bonus when we moved into our new home). I realize that 2800lbs (x2) is excessive, but I liked the simplicity, shape, and size; they won't be an eyesore and will DEFINITELY get the job done. I'm a little envious, and I'm pretty sure the walls would crumble before the hammocks. In the future, I plan to purchase more.
I used it to secure a bicycle on a concrete floor; it has screws that can be opened, so I topped it with liquid nails to solve the problem. It would cost about a hundred dollars to buy another real anchor, and this one was perfectly adequate.
These were purchased and installed on our dock. To secure a couple of Kayaks, we needed a place to attach a rope. The loop gives the impression of being quite sturdy, and it appears to be more than capable of handling the task at hand. In person, they are much nicer than the photos suggest, and I will update my review if they begin to rust. However, as long as they don't, it appears that money well spent has been made.
I placed three separate orders for ceiling mounts. One was too big, and the other was too small. . . but this one is just right! They have a good Aeye-to-Eye ratio. a request outstanding toughness Just make sure they're centered in the joists above the floor. br>In the same way that Goldilocks and the Three Bears:.
This is a solid piece of equipment. With a security cable, I use it to anchor my patio furniture.
