Please accept my heartfelt gratitude. In my open gym, I can slide it wherever I want! Well, back and forth on a rail, to be precise. The ceiling joists were secured with angle irons. Simply slide this mount into the slot after that. I can now easily move it from the side to the center of the room. My children are capable of moving a 100-pound bag across the room. The best part is that, thanks to its clever design, it stays put while punching. Just be careful not to overlubricate the rails. It's held in place by friction. Alternatively, a twist tie can be used to keep it in place. This is a mount I really like. It's quiet and sturdy, and it's made a significant difference in my gym. Thanks! br>br>UPDATE: br>br> For the past four years, I've been slid this back and forth every day. With my rail setup, it has performed admirably.
My wife has been pleading with me for years to put up a 100lb muay thai bag; she loves boxing and uses the bag at her gym to work out. I was almost going to use a spring system, but I didn't want to hear the bag inside the house. This mount is extremely costly, but it is well worth the investment. Mine was installed in the basement, directly on the floor joists. The included hardware was of good quality; I drilled pilot holes, oiled the bolts, and they went in easily; just make sure you're hitting your joists squarely in the middle. br>br>Had some problems because my ceiling is only about 79", the bag is 72", and the mount only stretches to about 5-foot. When fully loaded, it measures 6". However, by removing some stuffing from the top of the bag and hanging it very close to the top, I was able to get a solid 2" underneath, which was ideal. br>br>Functionally, this provides a nice quiet workout. Only your hand/foot will make contact with the bag; you will not hear or feel the bag bounce around. I can stand on my first floor directly over the bag and have someone go to town on it without hearing or feeling anything. It's not so springy that the bag bounces around, either; you can tell this mount took a lot of thought and engineering. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> Just wanted to provide an update; I've had this mount for a few weeks now and have put in some serious training time with it, and the more I use it, the more impressed I become. I had a noise coming from where the ring connects to the unit, so I texted customer service (clue 1: customer service is incredible; who else has text support?). Someone called me back 10 minutes after I sent my text to say that one of the bolts had come loose. Instead of telling me to tighten it, he simply said he'd replace it, which he did three days later. Customer service is outstanding, which is unheard of in today's world of waiting an hour on hold, filling out RMA forms, and proving to a company that you have a problem.
and THIS. THING. WORKS. We quickly set up the mount, and I stood directly above it while my husband hit the heavy bag for a few minutes. I was astounded that there were no vibrations or noises. I've had heavy bags hung in the basement before, and every time someone hit the bag, it sounded like the floor was about to collapse. The money spent on this mount was well spent.
After doing some research, I discovered that the better the spring's ability to absorb and hold the punching bag's weight, the less damage to your home's structure. I didn't want to jeopardize the structure of my home because I just bought a brand new two-story home with my home gym on the bottom floor. Finally, I decided to take a chance and purchase the Firstlaw Fitness Spider Mount, which, despite its high price, I believe is well worth the money. After all, you want your home's structure to remain intact, so spending a few extra dollars on this mount is worthwhile. In the long run, you won't have to worry about your house squeaking or shaking, nor will you have to spend thousands of dollars repairing damage caused by purchasing something less expensive. br>br>I've attached some photos to show you how I installed the spider mount.
This is an excellent product; prior to installing it, I was literally tearing apart my detached garage as I worked my 110lb bag. I wasn't concerned at first because it gave me a badass vibe. However, after noticing a few splints of wood on the floor (my garage isn't completely dry), I became concerned. walled). br>br>As a result, I forked over the cash and had the mount installed. It is, in my opinion, well worth the money and effectively absorbs all of the shock. My only gripe is that I don't feel like my garage's undisputed heavyweight champion any longer.
My floors and walls still shook even though I had one of those heavy bag "springs" attached. The vibration is completely absorbed by this. It is pricey, but it is well worth it!.
The bag was a present for our son, and I assumed we'd be fine because we live in a large house with a large basement with high ceilings. However, after two days of seismic house shaking, I decided to order this product based on the reviews. I can attest to the fact that it is authentic. We won't hear or feel a thing if he takes his time with the bag. It appeared to be a bit pricey at first, but it turned out to be well worth it. It appears to be the type of item that will outlast the heavy bag. It's extremely well-made and simple to put together.
