There is no padding on the thumbs. Only the front four knuckles meet the mitts, so there's no padding there. These gloves should not be used on a heavy bag and should only be used for fast cardio mittwork.

They were a good fit for me, a little snug. Because I wear XL gloves, my hands are quite large. The mitts could be a little bigger in my opinion; they're not thick enough for guys with a lot of power, and you can feel every punch through them.
No, it's a little big for a four-year-old, but it's big enough for my seven-year-old to train in, and my two-year-old tries. However, it is no longer suitable for children aged ten and upwards.

After destroying the first set, I'm back with a new one. The old ones were good, but these are better in terms of wrist and knuckle protection, as well as encouraging the user to maintain the proper boxing position. Thank goodness, the mitts now have a target in the center, so switching back and forth is much faster because I don't have to refocus on the mitts to hit the center. There was no target on the old mitts. They've been in use for more than two months and are still going strong.
This was the next best thing to a punching bag, which wouldn't fit in our apartment. He has anxiety and aggression issues, so this was the next best thing. His 7-year-old sister and he both enjoy punching with them. The gloves were not overly padded, but they were comfortable for the kids. I have large hands, and these gloves are too small for me. The mitts are a good fit for me, and I enjoy punching with the kids.
The only issue I have is that I was under the impression that these were larger boxing gloves. They aren't full-fledged boxing gloves; they're much smaller and don't even cover the thumb.
This is an excellent first set. The materials aren't sturdy, thin plastic that will likely rip over time, and you'll feel that punch while wearing the blockers. Most likely, the insides are made of cardboard. Not something you should buy if you're serious about the sport, but it's a good enough cheapo product to get you started and determine whether or not you're a true boxer.
I'm glad I took the time to open the box before giving it to my nephew for Christmas. He stands 6'2" tall and weighs around 200 lbs. My husband, who is 6'2 and 185 pounds, could barely get his hands into these gloves. To give to him, we simply ordered an extra pair of XL gloves.
Because I don't want to leave my house to go to the gym when it's raining and cold outside, this is a great way to get some cardio and strength training in! Simply by absorbing my punches, my husband gets a workout as well. Overall, I would strongly suggest this product to anyone looking to stay or become more active from the comfort of their own home!.
The gloves are extremely light, which is something I appreciate. I didn't want those huge, bulky gloves that made it impossible to feel my hands. When I'm working out, I use these for some light sparring.
Because there were so many options to choose from, I wasn't sure I made the right decision until this set arrived. I did! Both my husband and I were able to wear the gloves and pads. When we go to the gym, we take them off. We expect it to last a long time because of the high quality.
