China is where the paddles are made. br>Thank you, Stiga.br>
Because it's been a few years since I bought my set, things may have changed. I can tell you that I am sensitive to odors, particularly chemical odors and off-flavors. gassing. I'm confident that if there had been any odor, I would have returned my set right away.

We have over 16 table tennis rackets (3 sets from various manufacturers and 5 individual paddles) that we use with friends and family. We've only broken four of our 16 rackets in the last six months, and they're all Stiga rackets. Everything else (which we use a lot more) is still working fine, but these. I'd never buy these again because the quality is so poor. If you take a bad breath, the handle will fall off. Caution to the buyer.
The handle just kind of disintegrated on its own. Returning with a heavy heart. I had high hopes for STIGA.
Nerfed is the place to go for casual doubles. These paddles are ridiculously cheap, but compared to how springy and grippy the nicer, more expensive paddles are, they have almost no spin and the surface is more of a foam than a rubber sheet, and it dampens the ball so severely that you feel really wimpy. These aren't very good for casual competitive play. You can try these if you want to play casual doubles with slowed speeds and no spin for a low price (I got mine for $15). It was nearly free, minus the cost of the balls. br>br>I recommend the Mapol 2 paddle set if you're looking for a low-cost paddle with good bounce and spin (but it's a little heavy).
This set is exactly what it says it is, and my son loves it. My only complaint is that with little effort, my son was able to break one of the paddles (on his head). Granted, he shouldn't have been hitting it on the head, but I think it would have held up to an 11-year-old. I'm still happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others. The balls that come with it are tournament-style balls that are very nice.
I'm also curious about the paddles. EDIT: However, the manufacturer has since sent me a genuine set, which is great, but I had to wait a long time for the product I ordered. The real set is far superior to the one that was sent to me. Increasing the number of stars from one to three (from one) - Although the product is excellent, I purchased it in part because of the speed with which it was delivered. Original review: br>br> br>br>Clearly, the "three star" balls are not three star balls. They're flimsy and easily dented, especially when compared to our standard 3-piece set. a ball of stars Everything about their flight characteristics is inferior to that of a true 3-D model. a ball of stars br>br>I doubt Stiga would produce such shoddy balls, so I'm guessing it's a fake. Is that to say that the paddles are also fake? I'm debating whether or not I should return everything.
Surprisingly good rubber and padding are used. The paddle handles are rough and unfinished, but not to the point of causing splinters, and for the price, this set is a fantastic value. The rubber and padding are exceptional - allows me to maintain the level of control I'm accustomed to- The balls are also in good working order and have a nice feel to them. This is far superior to the hard-rubber foamless pips up paddles found in starter kits, and I'm hoping that these will lead my children down the path of good feel and technique that the hard ones would not. This starter set is ideal for beginners, those looking for a set to play with friends, and those who haven't yet found their perfect paddle.
For the warehouse, my warehouse manager purchased a table. He didn't want anyone else to help, so I figured this set would be a good way for me to help. These are much more durable paddles than the ones that came with the table. This set is shared by everyone at the warehouse, and it is used frequently throughout the day. Except for the handle getting dirty, which is more our fault than the product's fault, these paddles show very little wear and tear. I would highly recommend this set to beginners.
They were purchased for our 20-person household (don't worry, it's a communal living situation!). br>br>These have withstood the test of time. They aren't the most comfortable rackets on the market - The wood is a little rough, and they're heavier than I prefer, but they're sturdy, and the rubber hasn't come loose. For the price, it's a fantastic set that's just what we needed! If you don't want to give up your nice rackets to guests, this is a good starter set or one to keep on hand. Enthusiasts who are serious about their hobby will almost certainly attend. a desire to obtain something more suitable.
