This is my second set, and these are even better than the first. br>br>One thing to keep in mind is that the paddles have a protective film on them, which made me think they were super cheap and plasticky at first, but once I peeled the film off, they were softer and stickier. br>br>They quickly lose their super sticky feel, but settle into a good beginner paddle that's great for parties and friends where you don't want people slamming your expensive paddles around.

These paddles are a little on the pricey side, but the reviews convinced me they'd be worth it. My daughter and I thought the thick rubber surfaces were dull and "squishy" the first time we played (we are not competitive players, but we are very good amateurs). We both assumed we'd have to hit the ball really hard just to get them over the net, let alone hit a game-winning edge shot. I placed an order for four antiques right away. We bought some cheap paddles from school and discovered that we were having a lot more fun playing with them. They're crisp and springy, and they give you a lot more control. br>This could be because professional play has evolved and players at this level prefer a different feel, but don't waste your money on the most expensive paddles for the rest of us.

It's simple to set up and take down the retractable net. The paddles are made of high-quality materials. This game is designed for players who are new to the game or who have some experience with it. The balls have a good amount of weight to them. We've used cheaper ping pong balls in the past, but I can honestly say that having the right ball makes a huge difference in how long you can keep a volley going with kids. This is something I would recommend to anyone who has a blank table, even if it is a folding table - Where there was once only a plain table, it now provides an opportunity to spend time laughing and having fun with family and friends.

I can't speak to the durability of the paddles because we've only used them once. Aside from that, the paddles appear to be well-made and come in attractive packaging. If the durability holds up, I'd give it a five-star rating. br>Additional information: I keep the paddle in a high position on the handle. I've noticed that the sharp edges on the wooden, curved pieces between the handle and the hitting surface are quite noticeable. Mine will be sanded down to a slightly rounded shape.

The quality of the wood handles is good. The rubber is held in place by a shoddy adhesive. Several of the paddles ordered have begun peeling after only three weeks of light use. I wish the adhesive was of higher quality because I doubt they will last a year. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I received two new sets of paddles from the seller within a short time. Customer service was excellent, and the people were pleasant to deal with throughout the process, so hopefully these were inspected by quality control and will last.

For more than 30 years, we've had a ping pong table. The paddles, as you might expect, have been replaced several times over the years. The quality of this particular set blew me away. The paddles are sturdy, with a nice layer of padding and the right amount of firmness for excellent ball control. Additionally, the balls are of high quality. My purchase has made me extremely happy.
