First and foremost, let me state that I was extremely pleased with these paddles at first. They're ideal for recreational use. However, after only a week, I began to have problems with them. On one of the paddles, the handle had disintegrated. It appears that it was left unglued at the factory and was only held together by a sticker on the end. The rubber on one side of another paddle had completely disintegrated. Rubber is peeling away from the edges of the other two paddles. It'll only be a matter of time before it completely falls off, I'm sure. During a party, all of these issues occurred at the same time. I glued all of the pieces back together so that we could continue playing, and it seems to be working so far. I was dissatisfied with the lack of durability.
On the product listing page, there is an incorrect and misleading description. I can't believe Amazon will sell the products with such business ethics. Speed - as stated in the title Spin - 60 minutes Despite the fact that the product package states Speed - 60, Spin, No. 33 HOW ARE YOU GOING TO JUSTIFY THIS, AMAZON? I bought this paddle with these numbers in mind, which were listed in the product listing, but it is a very poor paddle. It only comes with 1 star balls, which is fine for kids who are just learning how to play the game. The rubber on the paddles came off after only 30 minutes of play due to poor adhesive, and the paddle handles are uncomfortable. The thin rubber and three-ply blade don't help with control or speed, and the thin rubber doesn't help with spin. These paddles are being returned, and new ones will be purchased. These are not the paddles to buy if you want to play a good and proper game of ping pong.
Because this is our first paddle purchase (along with a table), I went with the less expensive paddles (having done very little research). We are a family of six, and for the first two weeks after purchase, we played for a couple of hours every day. Ping pong was put on hold until the kids finished their final exams, track, and football (sports take up a lot of time for kids). This week, we got back into the game. I noticed today that the rubber material on the edges is slightly coming apart. By the end of the summer, I expect us to be ready for the second set of paddles. For about three weeks, our entire team (roughly 20 people) at work played ping pong during lunch. Those paddles are still in excellent condition, but they were significantly more expensive (along with the tables).
It's worth giving these a shot. I bought them for my children and grandchildren to use during the holidays. They were rough on them, but they held up admirably. With their paddles, the kids hit the table's edge several times. I decided to reattach one of the edges that had begun to pull away from the base. Within a week, the handles had completely disintegrated. The wooden grips separated from the paddle even though we weren't rough with them. You might be able to reattach them with glue, but you shouldn't have to do so so soon after purchasing them.
