Telescopic poles can be removed and a string can be hung elsewhere. Measuring the correct angle and adjusting the string as needed is all that is needed.
The screws came with it, so we used them. I didn't get any double-sided idea tape with it. The winter will be the time to take ours down as well. In case you do not want to take the platform down and on again, you can remove the pole. That might be of some help. The purchase has been a good one for us. There is nothing like a quality piece like this.
In my case, I am going to have to decline. I put mine up for a party and by the end of the night the plastic sleeve it sat in had As many of us used tie downs to keep the pole upright while playing, it remains untouched. Here is a picture I would be happy to send to you if you like.

THE UPDATE IS I have had this thing outside for almost a month now and it looks horrible. There was no way for it to hold up to the weather. The price I paid was too high for what I expected. mean, they are supposed to be out in the sun, It is definitely a game I would recommend.
I will have to replace the hook since the end has no threads, and I will have to drill a hole lower on the board to lower the hook. It's the design of the board that causes problems with that. Rather than brown lines, the brown patch on top is made by gluing together small pieces of wood. you may think it is a nice accent, drilling a hole might cause permanent damage by popping these pieces out and making the whole thing unusable. A telescoping pole is a good option if you cannot mount the string from above, but I find it to be an inconvenience if it blocks most of the shot. This product gets two stars until it gets a major update. Since my patients have been increasingly tired as of late, I have not yet contacted the seller.
I thought it was a great idea, but I did not like how it was designed. In the middle of the board, there is a fancy middle line of wood that isn't too A series of very small pieces of wood form the middle line. It doesn't stick to the wood glue anymore and I attempted to glue it back in place, but it just won't stay. That made me so sad! That is a shame we cannot use it. I am very excited to get it, but disappointed that it is not usable.
Many neighbors hang out by the pergola and the fire pit and this game fits right in. Our team has already played several (socially distant) games while we are all enjoying the nice weather during the nationwide lockdown. It's great! We have already ordered a second one to have on the other side a lower level for all the kids in the neighborhood who want to play with us too!.
A porch or a well-covered area would be the best places to use this. I don't think this would last outside. They are really handy, thanks to the straps. In the near future when we can travel again, I will definitely take this with me to the islands.
THE UPDATE IS My message to the seller that the product had failed so quickly was responded to immediately and a free replacement item was sent. We had our tiki toss outside for less than 3 months before the surf board backing split in half and rotted. There was no replacement available. I'd like to change my one star to 3 due to the great customer service.
You should stick with the standard version of the pole, the telescopic pole is a great idea but it's not very practical because of the lack of height and angle. It leaves the strings and rings It ended up being easier to remove the pole and screw a hook on a rafter above and four feet out from the hook, which worked just fine. The straps can also be adjusted to make it more portable and to keep it safe from the elements when not being used.
We purchased this to go under it. While you wait for food to finish on the grill, you can play this game. There have been other reviews that I have read. Using polyurethane, I gave the wood a clear coat to protect it from the elements. You are really helping it to be protected.
