Questions & Answers

Is there a set of instructions for how to play?

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say. For instance: br> This unit is designed for use in the backyard and is a home version of the disc golf baskets found in some of your local city parks. br>Disc golf (on a course) is similar to regular golf in that it is played on a course. You begin at the tee-box with your discs (special frisbees) consisting of a driver, a mid range, and a putter (much like real golfers carry only a few golf clubs). Box 1 is similar to the MVP Black Hole Pro in that your goal is to get the disc into the basket. br>You try to get your discs into the basket with the fewest strokes (throws) possible. br>br>Anyway, the MVP Black Hole Pro is a backyard practice basket for disc golfers to work on their putting skills. br>br>I hope this information is useful. br>br>For a better understanding, go to You Tube and search for disc golf videos.

I'm looking to make a permanent base and have this pipe set into a larger one, so what is the outside dimension of the vertical pipe?

The diameter of the entire pole is 1 inch. 5 inches.

Is the "transit bag" included in the price of the professional backet?

My basket didn't come with one, but I don't recall seeing one advertised with it when I purchased it. (As was the case two years ago.)

Is galvanized steel used in its construction? Is it only available in black (I understand the name.)? What is the weight of it?

Zinc plating is used on the chains. Yes, it's only available in black right now, and it weighs about 25 pounds.

Selected User Reviews For MVP Black Hole Pro 24-Chain Portable Disc Golf Basket Target

UPDATED! Previous weld issues have been addressed in this product! I gave this product three stars in my previous review in 2018, citing the pole's poor weld quality, which failed when the basket fell over in high winds
5/5

When I told MVP about the problem, they sent me a replacement pole right away. In the year 2020, the attachment points have been redesigned to provide a much more solid insert with more surface area to support stronger welds. A side-by-side comparison of the old and new components can be seen in the photos. The 2020 basket is a far superior product; the wire gauge on the basket is still a compromise between durability and portability, but the heavy chains are essential for catching courses, and this basket has plenty of them. This is a significant improvement and a solution to my previous problem with the basket. Please be aware that the following information is public. For my evaluation, MVP provided a better basket.

Within a month, it had become rusted, but I still adore it
3/5

Pros: It took longer to get out of the box than it did to put together, it's fairly sturdy, and it catches discsbr>br>Cons: As soon as it rained, it began to rust. In less than a month, the spoke weld points rusted, followed by the chains. This basket has been in my possession for 5 months, and the chains are noticeably rusted. Because the basket is shallow, discs occasionally fall out. If you hit it hard with a heavy-weight disc (e. g. , a golf disc), it really wobbles. The metal band on the top easily shows marks from being hit by discs (270g training wizard from Gateway). br>br>Overall, I'm disappointed with how quickly it rusted, but the basket still provides me with a lot of enjoyment. I am constantly tinkering with it. My small children enjoy playing with it in the backyard, and my putting has improved as a result. This basket is still very much alive. I'll probably get a course once it dies (if it ever does). For my back yard, I need a high-quality basket.

It takes less than a minute to dismantle and reassemble
5/5

For the past four months, I've been using this target. I moved it from under my back porch to the yard, and I don't mind that it's a little wobbly. For a 35-pound target, if handled correctly, it isn't too taxing on the body. With only minor spit out and no slice through, it catches well. The top rim of this car isn't as thick as that of an Innova. The inner portion of the chains can be removed, but not the outer chains. If this bothers you, go get some carabiners and cut the top chain on each run. They advertise correctly; it can be disassembled and reassembled in less than a minute, with no tools required, which I appreciate. The only criticism I have of it is that the all-black theme may be unappealing to some people. I, on the other hand, adore it. If you want to be more creative, get some fluorescent spray paints and use them to mark your target. The chains now look nice and have a bright chrome glow to them. In order to keep it dry, I keep it out of the rain as well. You can buy "glow chains" online that use a black light flashlight if you want to use it at night. They're also quieter than the Black Hole's chains, which might be appreciated by your neighbors. To sum it up, putting at this target is similar to putting at the real thing, and for a reasonable price!.

It's tough, weatherproof, and it catches discs like a golf course basket
5/5

This is the second one I've bought. It's not cheap at $150, but it's well-made and weatherproof. It takes about a minute to put together and take apart without the use of any tools. It's portable because of this, but it's also quite heavy. Something you wouldn't want to transport over a long distance. It's been used as a practice basket at tournaments. It catches discs in the same way that the more expensive course baskets do. Those who want to use this basket for backyard practice should be aware that the chains are quite loud (as are all good baskets - especially with the power putts thrown in). This problem is solved by securing a length of foam pipe insulation behind the chains along the inner stem. I use the type that has a 1" core and is already slit down the side, which I secure with a couple of cable ties. Although it causes some bounce, it makes the basket extremely quiet. outs.
