It's a Master's original.
It is not gold, but rather blue. Greetings, at least from the one I purchased.
Only Silver cup brand black chalk is available for purchase.
I've been using the Master brand of chalk since the 1960s, and I currently have a 144-box supply on hand. I understand that products change, but 1) I've never heard of oil chalk, and 2) I have no reason to believe that this excellent product has changed in any way.

After experimenting with high-end chalks such as Lava, Predator, and the king of high-end chalks, Kamui - We went back to using the old school chalk for the first time. Master. Don't waste your money on the expensive chalk when Master will suffice. When you chalk every shot or if you chalk out of nervousness or anxiety, you won't feel like you're wasting your money. Is it better to spend $30 on a cube of Kamui or less than a buck on a cube of Masters? Stick with the Masters and spend the $29 you save at the pool hall on beer and food.
I've tried most of the high-end, high-priced boujee chalks on the market, and nothing compares to this. Nothing even comes close to you! LOL. But, if you chalk before each shot like most serious players, this is all you'll need. Save the money you would have spent on other chalks and spend it on drinks at your local pool hall! "But my $30 chalks help me draw the ball better," some people have said. "Then I use my break cue, which has master chalk on it, and a good stroke to draw the ball farther than they can. " DO NOT BELIEVE THE OTHERS' HYPE.
Either the quality of Master chalk has dropped dramatically, or this is fake chalk. The majority of the cubes in my box are papered up past the top of the chalk, which I don't like (I chalk across the tip rather than screwing the cue into the chalk). With the exception of a brief experiment with Predator 1080, I've always used Master chalk. In addition, the paper on one or two sides of the cubes does not adhere to the sides. All of my future billiard product purchases will be made from Manning, Seyberts, or a local shop, so I can be sure I'm getting what I pay for.
I'll be able to pass this box down to my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Thank you for producing such a high-quality product.
Ok. The chalk appears to be green in the product photo on the website. It's almost as if it's made of green. The box's exterior has a green sticker on it. The chalk inside does not match the box's sticker or the product photo on Amazon. Is this a deceptive advertisement? Is that what we're up to at the moment?.
The quality is excellent, and the price is reasonable for the quantity received. Purchase in large quantities.
The old gold standard is still the gold standard, and the best color is blue.
