The inconsistency and off-center shots might surprise you. As a result, you try to correct your swing path when it could simply be a matter of distance from the ball (hitting towards the toe or heel of the club face). This assisted me in adjusting the distance between myself and a ball (I was standing too far away from the ball, resulting in center / toe face contact). My distance from the ball is still something I'm getting used to. This impact tape has also helped me understand that while I may have a centered impact, the face may be open and I have a push right (right handed) shot, and that you must adjust to why the club head is not squaring properly (in my case, taking the club too far back and not squaring at point of impact; attributed to my hip rotation lagging). br>br>Overall, knowing where you made contact on a particular swing is fascinating. br>br>I used to use the Universal size for all clubs, but I recently purchased a jumbo roll (500 labels) for Standard Irons, and I'll keep using the Universal for driver. Your longer irons, on the other hand, may produce less-than-ideal results (continuing to hit off center). Off-center hits are "masked" by the higher loft. I was told this. As a result, I continue to use the impact tape to monitor my face impact with long irons and lofted clubs when gapping and pitching for shots over 100 yards.
I've been using LongShot impact tape for nearly all of my practices for years. It gives you useful clubface impact data to go along with your ball flight data.
It definitely forces you to focus on keeping your head down. It is extremely beneficial in terms of alignment and swing path.
