Who is now making these now that American has gone out of business?

Since 1994, they have been manufactured by the company that purchased the company's assets. They no longer produce the American Wax and only make pucks.

Is one of the pucks faster than the other?

Cheap pucks have a flat bottom and plow through the table quickly. These have the correct curved bottoms that allow them to ride on top while also allowing them to play for hours without having to re-inflate them. The table is being dusted.

Unfortunately, the pucks' plastic caps were out of balance, resulting in "wobbles. " Replacement caps arrived quickly from the supplier, but the system was out of balance once again. The "wobbly" caps were of poor quality, but once I replaced them with caps from my old pucks, these muthas kicked butt! Because of the cap issue, I couldn't give them more than three stars.

Reliabe Play in the Old School

On the bottom, these have the proper curve. They glide over the wax with no carving. The cheeper pucks are flat and leave trails as they travel across the playing field.

There is no better option

These are more expensive than the majority of alternatives, but they are well worth the investment in terms of durability and utility. I looked in all of the local stores as well as the internet. By far the best value for the quality.

Pucks that are well made

There wasn't a lot of information about these pucks online, and I was a little "sticker shock" when I saw the price, but trying to refurbish my existing pucks would have been far too much work. br>br>The pucks appear to be well-made and perform admirably on the table. The chrome finish on these pucks should hopefully last longer than the originals. In general, I am pleased with my purchase.
