The vest appears to be well-made, and you get a lot of value for your money. It has plenty of pockets to hold whatever you need for a variety of activities. Allow me to summarize some of the features in a Pros/Cons list before I describe my (disappointing) experience with it:br>br>Pros: br>1) It has shotgun shell holdersbr>2) It has pistol magazine holdersbr>3) It has a pistol holster that will fit your Glock 19 or 17, but not the 34 with the small Vortex Venom RMR on it, and it will almost certainly not fit a 10mm hunting pistol. It's also designed to fit a revolver, and if you don't mind the barrel protruding from the bottom, it can be quite long. br>4) It has a belt on which you can hang all of your belongings, as well as two sideways pockets for your pocket knife or whatever else. br>5) It has a lot of pockets on the inside that can fit any flat item or piece of paper, such as a map. (Yes, people still need maps when their GPS batteries die. )br>6) The belt is detachable, and the loops that hold it on can be used to attach it to another belt. br>7) The holster and three pockets (good for pistol magazines) are removable, allowing you to move the holster up and the pockets down if you prefer to carry your rifle across your chest and don't want the pistol grip to be hit. br>8) It is made of a durable material that can withstand a lot of wear and tear. br>9) It is wide enough to fit most people. br>br>Cons: br>1) It will not fit people over 6 feet tall (see below for details)br>2) The removable and interchangeable holster and pockets are only on the left side of your body, with no detachable components on the right side. On the lower right side of your body, the pockets for pistol magazines would be more useful. br>3) The belt loops must be attached to a belt, or the vest will be pulled up every time you try to open a velcro pocket. br>4) The "rescue strap" on the upper back side is a good idea, but it will most likely choke the person wearing the vest unless the belt is tight around their waist and the pull force will not undo the loops that strap the vest to the belt; however, it is better to have it so someone can pull you out of it if necessary. br>5) Because it's a one-size-fits-all vest, the side straps are too long, and depending on how "wide" you are, you'll have to take a lot of the slack off to get it tight, and you'll have a hard time feeling like the vest is snug around your body. Because the straps are too long, you'll probably have to cut the excess once you've adjusted them. Why four stars? br>br> br>I should have given it less than 4 stars in my case, but it will work for a lot of other people, so I think 4 stars is fair. My height is 6 feet 3 inches, and my weight is 245 pounds (down from 265!). I was hesitant about the vest fitting my height and "width" (and I'm still working on it). I am aware that I am overweight for my height and that finding vests that fit well is difficult, so I carefully read a lot of the QA information on this vest and discovered that more than one person who answered fitment questions claimed to be my height (or taller) and around my weight and claimed that this vest fits them. As a result, I placed my order, confident that it would fit. It turns out that this vest won't fit anyone taller than 6 feet, which is a bit of a stretch (no pan intended). My 6-foot-tall son was the one who tried it on. It fits, but it is still too short. When I bring the belt to my waist, the back of the vest is too high, and the back loops that hold the belt on will not reach the belt; if I put the back loops on the belt and put it on, the buckle of the belt will end up on my belly button (no picture of that, it looks stupid). There is a way to shorten it from the shoulder velcro, but not to make it longer, and I doubt you could shorten it more than a couple of inches without sacrificing the velcro's ability to keep it up. br>br>In conclusion, if you need a vest like this, you can be very wide or very thin, but it will work best if you are between 5' 5" and 5' 10" tall, unless you don't mind removing the belt and just putting it on to carry your fishing gear or whatever else you have with you.
My adolescent son believes he is a Ninja warrior. He and his buddies shoot paintball guns at each other in the woods behind the house, and when he told me how this vest would increase the amount of ammo and gear he could carry, increasing his chances of winning the battle, I gladly handed over my card. After all, it keeps him away from the television and video games, where he's inside shooting people, and instead encourages him to go outside with his friends and shoot each other. I heard squeals of delight as he unboxed the vest, which are typical of a teenage girl who has just met her hero. Then he got on his video game microphone and told his friends to go outside and fight. "My mom is amazing" and "this is so cool" were among the comments I heard. He walked slowly by me not long after that - That was a few days ago, and I guess the vest did a good job of carrying a lot because I haven't seen him since. I've heard him yell at his friends as they all flee and hide, but this vest appears to have made my kid the undisputed paintball world leader. br>br>****** To give you an idea of the size, my son is 6'2" and weighs around 220 pounds. Over a hoodie, he wears this vest, which fits him perfectly.
For a big guy, it's fine. Let's face it, I'm a big guy because I'm an American. It's obvious that this was made in China, which is fine for many things. So, starting at the top and working my way down. br>On the right side, the padding isn't as thick. No, you can't adjust the shoulders; yes, there's velcro on the back, but it's a solid piece only over the shoulders from front to back. Now, for the sides, that's fine; as I previously stated, I'm a big man. br>Pouches, I'm only now beginning to think about what I'll put in them. Butler Creak 25/22 banana clips fit well in the lower mag pouches. There are three on the right and one on the left of the bottom pouches. They're attached with a stitch. The shotgun straps are sewn on to the pouch. The 3 over the holster is a single solid piece that is attached to the holster with velcro and can be removed. T hoes 3 are a good fit for a double stack mag. I've got one for my Beretta now, and it's a good fit. br>br>Very adjustable, from my large gut to smaller moobs. Layering will be a breeze with this. I can easily see several layers underneath this to keep warm, with this on top where it belongs, so it's perfect. The pistol holster pouch, on the other hand, is removable. If it's a regular 9mm to 45, it should fit any small to large frame semi-automatic pistol. It's not a problem if you want to drive yourself. Because I have a Beretta with a laser / light on the bottom, the pistol pocket isn't going to work for me; I'll have to velcro my custom holster in place. With a few velcro straps, it should be fine. On the negative side, that belt is a little small at the bottom. It's too small for me because I have a large waste. So, in general, everything is fine. Remove the belt, and you'll have six loops hanging from the bottom of the vest, which you could tie to your jeans' belt. br>On the back, there's a pouch where I'll probably put a water bottle, but I've also got a go-bag. I'm not going to use much of that pouch because I'm carrying a backpack.
