First and foremost, I've read almost every review on this OLIGHT Baldr- I decided to buy one based on what the reviews said and after watching a few YouTube videos of people praising the Olight Baldr Mini, I had no choice but to find out and buy one for myself. From what I can tell, the light and laser components are well-made. The light is very bright, and the laser is awesome, and when they're both on, it's spectacular, and probably how I'd set it up all the time. br>br> The QD mount on this unit disappointed me greatly. It took some force to push the lever over to the locked position the first time I put it on the rail, which was a good thing because it should fit snugly. I checked the repeat zero by turning it on and off a few times, and after about four times, it became looser and easier to flip the lever over into the locked position. br>br> I tried tightening the screw on the opposite side of the lever, but it was already maxed out as tight as it could go, so there was no more adjustment. When I reinstalled it on the rail, I checked for movement and discovered that it was all over the place. By simply pressing my fingers on the sides or bottom of the light, I was able to move the laser two to three inches off center, up and down, and left to right. I'm not sure why the engineers of this light, unlike Stream Light, Surefire, and the others I've owned, made everything else on it amazing but completely failed to make the mount heavy enough built that when the light is mounted it is solid as a rock. br>br>The QD mount looks good, but it doesn't hold tight over time; my suggestion is to create a model of this light with tightening and solid mounts, as well as counter sunk Allen head screws to tighten or remove it. I returned mine because I didn't like it, but the only laser I'll trust is one that stays steady at the settings you set. I'll be keeping an eye on OLIGHT and will be ready to purchase their new Solid Mount version of this laser and light if none of the videos I watched tested that aspect of the product. This OLIGHT was mounted on a Springfield Armory XDM Elite 3 Full Size Frame (not Compact). That's why I'm so disappointed! 8 barrel and the fit in length of this light was perfect and looked amazing on that pistol, which is why I'm so disappointed! From PL- to PL-XXXXXXXXXXXXX It's only slightly thicker and longer than the Mini 2, but it still won't fit past the barrel of a Glock 19. If the glass is kept clean, the laser dot is crisp and does not flare. It really enhances the appearance of the gun. When compared to the PL-100, the light is a lot brighter. The color of the Mini 2 is more pure white than the Mini 1. However, I have a couple of issues. When manipulating controls and on the mount, the laser moves around a little, so you won't be able to hold momentary and have a consistent point of impact because the dot will move up and distance will exacerbate the inaccuracy. However, I'd say it's accurate enough to hit a human-sized target in a home defense situation. reliably size the target At 45 feet, I was consistently hitting on or very close to the laser dot when it was toggled on. I also wish the laser adjustment screws had more resistance so that fine tuning could be done, but that just means you'll have to be more cautious when zeroing. I zeroed it to my Holosun 508T and got a perfect first shot. Overall, I'd recommend it, though you might want to wait for OLIGHT's occasional sales.
I placed an order for three. Two of them were faulty and refused to zero. The laser dot would not descend far enough, but it would adjust its position in the sky. I called the manufacturer in Georgia and followed the instructions to leave a message. I didn't get a call back from them. I'm glad I bought from Amazon because dealing with the company, which is unresponsive, would have been a nightmare; I returned the two defective ones and received new ones. I'm not sure about long-term dependability because they're still new, but they adjusted well. I'll let you know when I have something new to say. br>br>At this time, I find that I place a higher value on dependability than on low prices. However, I would not recommend this product; instead, I would recommend something I could count on, such as a streamlight version of this product; depending on what it is, I would rather pay for quality and reliability than risk being disappointed by a cheap deal.
On my M, I've got this set up. While the P Shield 40 Cal (California Version) fits perfectly on this firearm's rail, I chose to install it on thebr>br>Recover Tactical SHR9 Picatinny Railbr> because the picatinny rail looks so nice on this firearm). In terms of holsters, I recommend the Clip Draw, which is a fantastic holster-free option.
10- I received my M in 2020. br> P recently completed a shoot in Arizona. After about 20 rounds through the M16, the OLIGHT Baldr Mini fell off the pistol and into the dirt. Shield 40 P Shield I reattached the OLIGHT Baldr Mini to the M after cleaning it. P Shield 40, on the other hand, was hit in the head by light that flew off from the recoil. In defense of the OLIGHT, I also discovered that the Clipdraw attached to it had become loose. Since then, I've tightened the OLIGHT Baldr Mini light as well as the Clip Draw (the Clip Draw may require lock tightening). I'll conduct another test at the range and report back. br>br>Finally, the M is drawn. The OLIGHT Baldr Mini fastener snags on my clothing, opens up, and the light falls off the rail and into my pants or shorts when I press P from the IWB position. I've accidentally put the OLIGHT in IWB conceal mode on a few occasions (not a good thing). br>br>I would advise the manufacturer to include a cover (or something) in the OLIGHT Baldr Mini's locking mechanism to prevent it from snagging and opening on an IWB draw. To prevent accidental activation on IWB carry, I would also recommend a tighter activation switch, possibly a cover or a different location for the switch. Aside from the obvious issues, I've occasionally discovered the battery dead as a result of accidentally activating the light switch while carrying the IWB. br>br>Overall, this is a great light, and the circumstances described above might or might not be unique to me.
