HIVIZ HRBLW01 Ruger Mark II and Mark III Interchangeable LITEWAVE Front Handgun Sight Green, Red, and White, One Size

This HiViz front sight was purchased to replace the all-black stock front sight on my Ruger MKIII 22-caliber rifle. The target model is 45. Use the stock sight screw on Ruger handguns (as directed). It was extremely simple to set up. Heat up the barrel a little if you think the sight screw has threadlocker on it. By firing four full magazines, I was able to accomplish this goal. My sight screw was coated in red thread locker, and it came loose fairly easily. The new sight is the same height as the factory one, and it fits the pistol perfectly. This isn't the brightest fiber optic sight on the market, but it's a significant upgrade over the stock sight. The metal sight body does a good job of protecting the fiber optic tube. Front sight performs similarly to the original in low-light situations. This, I believe, will stand the test of time. Light pipes can be replaced if necessary.

UPDATE: This front sight has finally been installed - It turned out to be a lot easier than I had anticipated - Ruger used red loctite, but the original iron sight came off with the help of a good gunsmith screwdriver. br>br>At first, I thought this was just a decent front view - The 'tubes' didn't appear to be very translucent at first, but after installation, I have no complaints and have decided to stick with the original green tube. br>br>However, despite the fact that this sight is marketed for Rugers, the included screw is only compatible with Brownings! Isn't that messed up? br>br>While it's nice to have three 'pipes,' the descriptions/pictorials on the back of this less expensive product don't match what you'll get. However, just because it was less expensive than others doesn't mean it won't work. br>br>However, compare the 'key' in your package to the 'key' shown in the product printing. Ok. Because the fit and finish were perfect for my Ruger Mk4, I gave it five stars. The tubes do collect light, but not as well as they could in low-light situations. (as is the case with the majority of tubes) You'll need tritium if you want something that shines in low light. This is an improvement over the black on black stock sights, but it isn't the be-all and end-all. I don't regret my purchase, but I don't have anything to compare it to other than the stock sight.

This sight appears to be factory-made and can be set up in a matter of seconds. Much better than the black blade sight provided by the manufacturer. This was mounted on a stainless steel mark 2 bullbarrel. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because the red insert is a little flimsy. It's not as bright as some of the others I've tried. My taurus judge's factory red sight is a lot brighter. It still works fine, but it isn't as bright as it once was. However, I've only used the red. It's possible that the green option is preferable. For the money 100%, I would purchase this sight again.

Although not as bright as the factory sight, it is a significant improvement. I had no problems installing it on the buckmark, and I was able to reuse the stock screw. The metal construction of this high-visibility sight appears to be long-lasting. The green/yellow filament did not pull as much light as I had hoped, but the red filament did. It also came with a solid white opaque filament, which I intend to use. Overall, nice sight and accessories, though a larger filament would have been preferable. Still, it's a huge improvement over the factory black blade sight, so I'm satisfied.

The supplied screw is only for use on a Browning Buckmark and will not fit a Ruger single six. I was instructed to use the factory screw by the manufacturer. However, there was one thread that was a little too long. I had to use a Dremel to cut it down to size. In addition, this is the dimmest Fiber optic sight I've ever had. It's a huge improvement over black on black target sights, but I'm thinking about switching to the white colored light pipe just for the contrast; I'm sure it'd be better outside.

I didn't want to change the sights on my new Mark IV 22/45, but I couldn't see the straight black sights. So I ordered these, installed them (which was a breeze), and am very pleased with the results. They aren't as precise as the OEM sights, but they have helped me acquire and shoot targets because they are so visible, especially outdoors. If you want your front sight to be visible outside, I recommend them.
