There are actually two questions. What is the capability of mounting it to the steel pot helmet from the M1? Does it come with a light?

You will only be able to mount it on helmets equipped with ARC rails, and it will only be the mount for the surefire flashlight you see pictured. There is, however, a mount that can be attached to MICH style helmets as well.

What is the rotation of this mount?

Yes, it is capable of rotating. Even though the retention screws could be improved, it does exactly what it is supposed to do

The helmet must be cut. In order to attach the Surefire HL1 light to the helmet I needed this device. As robust as one that costs much more, this attachment proves to be a great value. Having worked in law enforcement and this is meant to withstand abuse, so far I have had no issues. Buying it through Amazon only cost me about $18. It took less than two days for the product to arrive From China in a few weeks. I had no wobbles or issues with fitting my ARC rails with these. Fit was perfect, even on my ARCs. No tolerances were too great. Purchasing another one is not a problem for me and I would repurchase one. Here is the review I hope helped you.

Keeps a tight grip on the rail! When I first received the mount it was loose, and would not stay in place on the rails

Upon contact with the seller, a second mount was sent to me. I was able to mount the second camera As a result, it stays securely on the rail. There is about 15 degrees of travel on the mount when it rotates. The Surefire HL1-X mount works perfectly with this rifle There is a Thus, if you have a problem with the product, you need to contact the vendor, who will contact you and resolve it. It is a product I would buy again, as well as recommend to other people.

The stick does not stick My helmet seems to fit the helmet quite well, but the strap sticks out quite a bit

I am not sure how secure the finish is because it does not hold as well as the SureFire For something such as airsoft, this is fine.

This is attached to my arc rail on my maritime helmet

My maritime helmet is equipped with this on its arc rail. I was issued the Surefire helmet light by the army, and it fit perfectly. Combined my helmet and light in the same color. The only reason for a 4 star rating is that it wobbles a bit, but not much.
