It is easy to slip them on and they are snug fitting. To ensure you buy the right size caps, make sure you measure the diameter of your scope. It is impossible for them to work if they are either too tight or too loose.

You can use a caliper to measure the outside of the scope, and then pick the closest scope cover that doesn't go over the measurements. Cover the scope just below the measurement with the scope cover.

I used Butler's online PDF chart to find my scope, but it was a tight I had a hard time squeezing the bars shut and opening them. The door would pop open if only one side was closed. The cover can be slid forward 2mm and it appears to work fine. There should be a slight loosening of the ropes. There is a one star deduction for the fact that the push button version is more expensive. *you need this one on the front and the push button on the back if you wish to use it during hunting. Whenever it rains, I open both of them with both thumbs so that I can hold the rifle with a shooting grip while on my way to my shoulder. Those are the way Bushnell scopes are supplied with these.

I appreciate the quality of the product. When opening, the operation is almost completely silent. It just makes a little noise when it closes, but I don't find that so bothersome. A Nikon Buckmaster II 4-inch tripod that I got for my Nikon A 12x scope is the perfect fit for this rifle. The one I paired it with was a size 10 on the eye side and the 10 was very snug, so an 11 would probably be a better choice, but they both worked great anyway.
