Product Description

It is ideal for shooting close range, medium range—and anywhere else where a quick target acquisition and fast response time are critical. This prism-based design makes for a compact optical system without sacrificing optical performance.
Lenses that are fully coated with anti-reflective coatings give you the brightest possible view even in low light.
In addition, the reticle is etched directly on the prism, so shooters will always have the most accurate point of aim regardless of lighting conditions. There are five levels of intensity to match the situation, allowing the reticle to be selected between red and green.
This co-witness is mounted at a height of 40 inches for the lower third of the witness. There are 4 mm between the optic center and the surface of the base. The mount riser must be removed if you would like a lower mounting height of 30 mm.
It is constructed of shockproof material and is resistant to recoil and impact, and it's fogproof and waterproof due to nitrogen purging and O-ring seals.

Questions & Answers

Comparing it with an aimpiont, what are the pros and cons? Is there anything else you would like to know besides the price?

I put the Vortex on my personal AR, and I have the aimpoint on the issued There is no other way I could describe my feelings. This is why I prefer the single point of the aimpoint to the Vortex's bullseye reticle. The Vortex, however, is equally as good, if not better than the Aimpoint in every way. I was initially attracted to the Vortex due to its etched reticle (apart from the price difference between two). This means you are still able to view clearly if your batteries ever fail.

Having used their 3x flip to side magnifier, anyone tried the 1x spitfire with their 1x ?

That's right, I have. I like it a lot. You want to make sure the magnifier is focused first, then once you're looking through the glass, you can set the green to either 1 or 2 and adjust the focus to seek out It's possible for the reds and greens to become blurry when the magnifier is flipped away. Having said that, you just have to find what you consider to be the visual sweet spot

How do the eye reliefs of this scope compare to others?

My PS90 supports this and I don't have any issues with it being outside the eye relief distance specified. It's handy to be able to find it quickly and can be seen even on two or three illums

Can you tell me how much the mount weighs?

It is connected to the optic by a mount

My eyes are glued to this site
5/5

This is one of my favorite optics. There are no dark spots or bubbles in the prismatic reticle, making it easy to point it at your It zeroed easily, outside of slightly muggy clicks, but that's not enough to spoil my appreciation of this optic since I am likely to only have to zero it once or twice during the lifetime of the product. The illumination intensity clicks are positive and firm. The mount is sturdy. Any of my friends or family members will be referred to this site, if they ask It is my duty to grab strangers by the hand and shout at them to purchase Once this optic has been purchased, I will tell the police to arrest you. It will be my job to tell all my court personnel, the state prosecutor, my public defender, the court reporter, and the deputies to purchase During the psychiatric evaluation I may relent and agree to take thorazine, but as soon as I stop drooling on myself I will recommend it to the guy next to me and to all the other patients and nurses in the recreation area.

The pyramid has a crystal clear optical surface
5/5

I have never used a pyramid lens before. An etched reticle is an optic whose lens has been etched with the reticle. To use it in daylight conditions (with an illuminated reticle), it does not need to be powered on. It is in fact my preference to not illuminate during normal daylight hours. In addition, you can adjust the lens to your own eye's shape, which is even more important. Even if your eyesight is less than perfect or if you have astigmatism, the reticle is crystal clear once the adjustment is made. My vision is better than when I shoot a reflex type red dot with glasses, since I don't need to correct my vision. A crisp red dot can be seen only with the aid of corrective lenses if you have astigmatism. It is easier for me to see without corrective lenses if I am wearing this Vortex Spitfire. The red dots are shot with both eyes open as with a normal red dot. It takes little time to learn how to use this and you still get a lot of image space. In order to obtain the best field of view, the device must be positioned for a specific distance from the eye. The Red Dots are not restricted in this way. It is highly recommended this optic if you shoot consistently from the same position, have consistent cheek welds, etc. I would like to mention one more thing An enlarged version of this is not present. In fact, it is only 1X. In spite of that, I find the images through the scope to be clear and vibrant. There must be a difference in the coatings on the lenses because I see clearer through the scope than I do through.

One of the best 1x scopes out there
5/5

This is an excellent alternative to the red dot, and despite the riser, it can be used on a variety of objects besides the AR-type. For instance, the Ruger PCC and the Ruger 10/22 have a 15 round magazine. In addition to having an illuminated reticle, it has a very crisp etched reticle that works well While it does have a little "fisheye" effect, it does not need batteries so it doesn't really affect the quality. It requires a coin to rotate the turrets on it, but they do so clicky and appear to be It is unfortunate that Vortex has discontinued this model with the removable riser, so get this model while you can if you find it useful on non-US computers Each of the rifles has 15 rounds. Using the two rings in the middle in addition to the dot in the center is Reticles like this are simple and fast to use. Those of us who do not want to use busy optical systems but want some basic ranging capabilities will love this.

Red Dots are a great sight for the night! Having waited for such a long time for this type of Red Dot, I am delighted
5/5

It's true there are a few prismatic RDS systems out there, but they cost much more, and they don't have all the features this one offers. Previously, I owned a Bushnell TRS25 Red Dot, but I quickly discovered that I had slight astigmatism, which caused the dot to become distorted or just looked washed out in general. My first impression was that it must have been the Bushnell unit's poor quality, but I was prove wrong when I started doing some research. Red Dot's main advantage is its burnt in reticle, which is not offered by any other Red Dot at this price point. The red/green dot is sharp and clear with astigmatism, and nothing is washed out or blurred. It has a really high general quality, I really don't see any negatives in it at all. The VMX-100 has been paired up with this device I have a 3T magnifier, and it works well. My plan to get the EOTech XPS2 was to get it before this I skipped the red dot as it will be washed out, although I know it will be washed out. PERSONALITY PROFILE This is *1/1. A reticle that has been burnt in No matter what the battery level is, you will still see it. Choose from Red or Green options. A good level of Typical indoor conditions can be met with setting 3 and outdoor conditions can be met with setting 5. It has a solid lens cover that is easy to flip and close (the lens cover can be removed)
5. Adjusting brightness settings was made very easy by solid clicks. 6 *. There is very little streaking on the glass. Price point that is stable At $299, it is hard to find anything like it. This is 98
8. The overall quality is very good, the construction is solid, and the finishing is excellent. I. CONS 1. The brightness can be set from 0- There does not seem to be much difference between 4 and 5. It is mainly for outdoor settings that 5 makes such a huge difference. When the lighting is normal in a room, indoors As for the cons, it should be fine. It is not a big deal, but wanted to point it out. At the moment, there are not many mounts for it since it is so new. The only thing I would have liked was the option to buy one from the factory, or to have a quick release mount included. If this were available, rifle bags would have a better chance of fitting in it.

As a side note, I am using an AR15 with a powered optic, but I have bad eyes and red dots don't work too well
5/5

Since I didn't want a powered optic for my AR15, but have bad eyes and red dots just don't work for me (yes I know about brightness settings and taking them outside in natural light, but I do actually shoot my guns outside), and this one fits my needs. It makes everything crystal clear thanks to its etched reticle. There is a downside in that the eye relief on this scope is relatively short but it is not a problem if you mount it correctly on your rifle and train. While it's not that great, with a battery life of 250 hours on the brightest setting and 3000 on the lowest, if you run out of battery you still have the black etched reticle to help you navigate. In my opinion, the warranty is unmatched because it is a no-questions-asked lifetime guarantee that can be transferred. In other words, if you upgrade and want to gift this optic to someone new in your family or close friend, they will be able to use it. All in all, if you have bad eyesight and do not want a powered scope with red dots that can cause issues, this is the closest thing you can get. It is also a great price considering.
