Questions & Answers

Do the lenses get manufactured in the United States?

Providing lenses from Asia is part of our business model. We have found that there are no glass manufacturers in the United States that have the capacity to manufacture the quantity and quality of glass needed to manufacture our riflescopes, which we produce at our factory in Beaverton, Oregon. Optical engineers inspect all of our lenses before they are accepted into our assembly room. Our lenses are designed to our specifications and have been tested by our optical engineers. But to ask about the source of a lens is much like asking where tire manufacturers get their rubber from. When it comes to the design and applications of glass, it is less about where it comes from and more about how it is designed. Every riflescope on our website is purpose built to provide unmatched clarity and performance no matter how low the lighting conditions grow, while being within reach of even the most rugged users.

A significant difference in price is caused by the reticles, as they are a significant factor in the price. This series of guns comes with a BAR in ?

This kind of optic is why you would put it on a BAR, right? Does it appear to be a BAR original?

A Marlin 336 30/30 would suit it perfectly, wouldn't it?

I think it would work If you need a 30-inch TV, there are several options at a lower cost It was probably because the scope had a relatively short range and a light recoil that you were able to get by with a cheaper

The adjuster can accommodate two sets of rings. Can the rings be placed on either side? Will it need to be mounted with another set of rings if anything else is added?

It is possible to use just one set

There were no holdovers, otherwise it was In the latter half of this message, I just wanted to clarify that I have ZERO issues with the company or the site Each were great, I just wanted to make purchasing easier for customers like me who aren't always willing to look at the descriptions in their entirety
4/5

Thus far, I have not mounted it out on the range to sight this in, but I have taken it outside to make some contact with Wow, that's awesome. This is a clear and sharp picture. Rather than marking it down one star for the shipping (which was fast and as promised) or the product itself, I did so to express my displeasure with It is important to know you will be disappointed if you chose this based on the Leupold website and then came here to order. The reticle is NOT the sabot reticle shown on Leupold and is basically the standard duplex reticle. There are no holdovers and it is a standard crosshair. In the first attached picture you will find what Leupold offers for these scopes, and in the second, you will find what this scope Duplex reticle is mentioned in the description, however I suggest it be underscored with a picture, just for clarification for people like me who failed to pay close enough attention to the detail.

Using this reticle will not give you MOAs
3/5

I ordered it for the purpose of rangefinding with MOA reticle, which is what MOA reticle I was very disappointed to find the scale of the MOA was so small that it couldn't be used for that purpose, and the thicker crosshair section took up most of the reticle. According to customer support, the hashmarks are intended for use as holdovers. In that case, this is not a MOA reticle, it's a holdover reticle, and the hashmarks are too close together and hard to see for it to be effective at all. This was a very poor job of reticule implementation. This picture on the website is very misleading, as it shows the MOA to take up a lot more crosshair area than actually does. It is nowhere stated on the picture that it should not be enlarged. It is also pointless to have the turrets' numbered features since once the scope is zeroed, there is no way of calibrating the dial. Despite the good intentions, the execution and design are poor. This is the first Leupold telescope I have ever used, and I am so disappointed in it. I was looking for something made in the USA and of good The manufacturer designed a poor product and made misleading pictures to the extent that now I must pay shipping back to the retailer.

I've tested it, and it A year ago, I tried out the freedom line for the first time
5/5

As I viewed them in the low light I smiled and sighed. It amazes me that we spend so much money on high-dollar equipment that can't compete with All of my VX-based equipment has been replaced over the last several months VX3 with Freedoms and VX3i's. The FX2 and FX2i are also avowed. There's a huge difference between the two. Compared to the VX3i, I would say the freedom line does better in low light than that of the VX3i. Also, I use these freedoms on 444's so they have received a lot of wear and tear. Hunting is almost a year-round activity for me, I do not maintain my equipment, and I take a lot of abuse from my.

It's hard to find a better quality than Leopold
5/5

I was expecting an OK optic, but I was pleasantly surprised. The mount was easily installed on my Marlin 336C in 30 minutes There is probably too much scope for a brush gun, but it is comfortable to use for my 69 year old eyes. My only criticism is that the elevation and windage turrets have a bit of a mushy click. It would be better to have nice crisp clicks. To summarize, we saw linear and predictable adjustments.

Observations in the beginning
5/5

To date, I'm very happy with the scope of this project. The company appears to have hit it out of the park in responding to the market. The fact that it is American made at a low price is amazing.

The quality of the product seems excellent, but I'll echo another reviewer who notes that the knobs on the turrets are a bit stiff. In the event of me getting too rough with them, I fear they might twist off or break. In addition, the optics are clear and bright and the focusing system is excellent, along with the finish, which appears solid Furthermore, I have both a Nikon P-700 and Canon EOS 60D There is another piece called 223 which I enjoy as well, and these two compare well. While I believe the Leupold is superior in terms of optic quality and clarity, the Nikon is an outstanding value, featuring a bullet drop chart reticle and a positive turret click. While it's possible Leupold does not want to look trendy or take the coolness factor away from their more expensive scopes, I strongly believe they should have done exposed turrets like Nikon and ditch the caps that have to be accounted for at the range now. To conclude, I am very satisfied with this scope and its quality, in addition to the fact that it is an Oregon made, USA made.

A defect on the factory floor? My installation was perfect after I used magnetic levels and just-so levels on the mount
3/5

I put the scope on the range and started zeroing it. I was not even on the target (3' x 3') at a distance of 200 yards. During the move, I walked 100 yards to see for myself where I was because I needed time to adjust. I have yet to get it down A couple of shots hit the board behind the target, but they did not hit the paper at 25 yards. In my testing, it was confirmed that the scope's body was perfectly centered on the barrel. As I started to adjust, I made a few more At 25 yards, with the windage and elevation adjustments set all the way to the limit, it would still hit 3 inches above the ground and 3 inches to the The scope was returned, but I am going to get a higher-end version to see if I can get some value out of it.

There has been a decline in quality at Leupold & it has become embarassing I have been using leupold scopes for many years, and this one left me disappointed
3/5

I found the quality of the glass to be reasonable for the price, but the turret system to be one of the worst I have ever There was some difficulty sighting in with the scope because it did not respond well to My next purchase of a Leupold scope would be a high end The VX3I is the minimum that you should consider.

A comparative test of Nikon and Vortex scopes to The Leupold at Cabela's revealed that the Leupold scope was hands down the best.
