They have a diameter of 3 1/8".
Yes, if you have an otis cleaning system in place. Check out the otis website for more information on how to use it.
Slits for various calibers are included on the patches. I use them for a total of 30 minutes. They are extremely effective. Check out Otis's website and video for more information.
I believe they were designed to be used with the Otis cleaning method, but I don't see why they couldn't be used with a jag as well. But why not just use regular patches, which are likely to be less expensive? I shoot both black powder and modern firearms, and I have had great success with the Otis method on all of them.

br>It's a lot of fun to play with these patches. I've used them on the filthiest barrels and they've never let me down. br>I have an SKS that I purchased about 30 years ago, and in the first two years that I owned it, I fired thousands upon thousands of rounds through it without ever cleaning it. And we're talking about corrosive primer ammo, which is hard to come by these days. And to keep the BCG running, I only added oil as needed. I was only trying to see how tough the rifle was, so I severely abused it. br>I'd finally decided to take it apart to see how bad it was, and ironically, I'd only bought my first Otis kit two weeks prior. I stripped it down to its bare essentials and disassembled the barreled action from the stock. It was also filthy, as one might expect. br>I started by running the Otis bore brush through the bore and laughing at how much crud came out of the muzzle. After one pass with the brush, I moved on to the patches. br>According to Otis, these patches can be used up to six times. And I can honestly say that on that barrel, I only used one patch. I passed three times, at which point the chrome lining began to shine. It couldn't pull any more crud after the sixth pass. Installed and pulled through a second patch. Nothing. At all. It's as neat as a pin. br>I've been using Otis exclusively since then, and it does exactly what it says it will. There were no issues, and I was confident that the barrel was completely clean. I have four kits in total, one of which I keep on me at all times for my service weapons. I keep it in my range bag and use it at the range to clean my revolvers, Glocks, ARs, and Remington 870s. br>These patches are fantastic, and I will never go back to square patches. These really do work and can clean a filthy bore in a matter of passes. Even with all of the shooting I do, 100 patches will easily last me a year and a half. That's fantastic because it saves space, time, and money.
The lint that comes off of these things is AWFUL! Examine the photos, then examine the lint in the gun after a quick wipe, and then examine the lint on my fingers! Is it possible that this is a knock-off? I've noticed Amazon's reputation for allowing fake products to deteriorate in recent months, and this could be one of them. I'm extremely dissatisfied, and I'm going back. Be wary of the buyer!.
Otis cleaning patches come in two sizes, which I have. The design feature ensures that cleaning/lubricating liquids are distributed evenly throughout the barrel, eliminating the need to worry about uneven coverage. They're a little more expensive than bulk square patches, but cost/benefit is a personal choice with different criteria for each individual. Also, the literature claims that each patch can withstand up to six cleaning passes, but I haven't found this to be the case. However, each of us may have a unique approach to cleaning. I'd rather not keep putting a soiled patch in my barrel. Having said that, I usually apply each patch twice - once on each side of the patch that is clean.
50 BMG. It's a lot thinner than paper. These patches do not work for and will fall apart after a short period of time. 50cal. They're flimsy, stitched scraps of junk. They should also make the distinction between these and the panoply patches very clear. What is a panoply patch, anyway? I'm not sure what they are, but they appear to be thicker, multi-purpose rough and soft sided patches that work wonders. I'd rather have toilet paper than these patches. Cleaning, on the other hand, is a breeze with Otis Panoply 3" patches. 50cal :.
Those small square cleaning patches aren't cutting it. After using them for my entire life, I made the decision to switch to these round patches, and I'm not looking back. These 3" round patches are fantastic and perfect for my needs, and if threaded properly through the cleaning rod, they get places where the small square patches don't.
The best way to do it is to pull a wad of patch through the bore. It's nearly impossible to mess up, and it wipes the bore with a lot of force. If you're really careful, you can get six pulls out of one patch. To get the initial heavy debris out of the barrel, I punch a small hole in a regular patch and cover it with this one. br>br>To fill the bore on larger calibers, Otis suggests doubling up patches. What a fantastic way for them to double their patch sales! My method is effective, and I can usually get a spotless barrel with just one patch. These are slightly overpriced for what they are, but the quality is good, so I'll keep using them.
The gauge ranges from 22 to 12 gauge (as tested). Otis All Caliber Patchesbr>br>I've used Otis patches on a number of occasions. Both 223 and 12 gauge bores are available. They can be used up to six times, but after three, they may begin to tear. They're good for four uses, but they usually last up to six. Because they're made of cotton, they're better at removing carbon/plastic deposits without leaving polyester fibers that can melt. br>br>The 100 patches come in a re-usable bag. Rather than using a ziploc bag or stuffing them somewhere, they can be stored in a usable plastic container. Overall: br>br> It appears to be expensive at first glance, but when used with Otis' patch loop, it fits snugly in the bore and is simple to use with Otis cables.
