Questions & Answers

What are the case's measurements?

Joe: The case weighs in at around 4 pounds. Dimensions: 75" x 5" x 1" 5" deep. The one with the translucent green cover was the one I chose. The plastic latch appears to be well-made, as it keeps my range bag closed. It is compatible with both 9mm and 35mm film. 380 cal. I also have a box of Winchester flat nose bullets, which are held in place by the lid clearance. I don't think you'll be disappointed in this case.

What is the quality of the snap lock? Has anyone tried dropping it to see if it breaks open?

It locks. I haven't tried it, but let's just say there's no way in hell this thing would survive a fall. I also don't believe it was designed to be dropped; it's a nice little box for ammo storage.

Is this box safe to take on an airplane? I understand that it must be declared and carried in a checked bag, but is the box acceptable?

Cases are very nice
5/5

Storage that is small and convenient. The translucent versions are preferable to the opaque versions. This ammo box belongs to a well-known brand. They perform admirably. I was initially frustrated because I attempted to load them primer side down. They were difficult to remove from the box when I received them. (Because the round nose bullets were slippery and difficult to handle, I decided to prime them. ) They begin to sway slightly as a result of this. The trick is to shake it a little once it's full. (9mm, I haven't tried 380 in them) The bullets are evenly spaced and appear to be of the same caliber. The cover is well-fitting and secure. Shake the cover a little more after closing it. They now appear to be perfect. br>br>I purchased some non-translucent green ones. I'm not a big fan of those. Without opening them, it's impossible to tell if they're full or partially full. It's possible that I'm overanalyzing the situation. If you reload, they come with some stickers on which you can write information. So far, I haven't used it. I simply use factory ammunition in them. In its factory packaging, the MagTech ammo is very compact. One of these is just slightly larger than two MagTech 9mm boxes, so it's almost that small. Oh, and they stack beautifully as well. br>br> Even a tall stack won't fall over unless it's pushed pretty hard. They won't fall open because the box's clip is nice and tight. I was saving MagTech cardboard boxes and filling them to save space, but the cardboard flaps are a pain to work with and wear out quickly. For some reason, Federal Ammo is packaged in a way that takes up a lot of room.

I adore them all
5/5

I bought a few different caliber MTM cases and I love them all! Quality plastic and hinges, with a see-through lid that makes it easy to cut out brand specifications. Place the rounds on top of the s from the box. Three can be stored side by side with other boxed ammo, for a total of six in an ammo can. Stackable and ideal for putting in a range bag. Feel much better about loading a bag of ammo now that everything is ready to go and there's no cardboard or trays to worry about: D I don't reload very often, but if I did, this would be ideal. This product is manufactured in the United States. I'm going to order some more of these! I've included a photo of various. There are 380 brands to choose from. I prefer primer up, and Winchester makes a flat-nosed primer. As a result, I'll probably only buy that for these cases going forward. After you've applied the primer, you'll be able to move on to the next step. If you have large fingers, the 380 round can be difficult to remove from the slot; primer up is much easier.

Awesome! These things are amazing; I was a little concerned about the ammo "wobbling" that some reviewers mentioned, but as you can see from my photo of 9 mm rounds, it's very minor
5/5

Some have claimed that they can be stacked, which they can, but I wanted them to fit neatly in the bottom of my range bag, which they do, as you can see. The lids snap shut and stay shut with a satisfying snap. I'll be ordering more in the near future.

This is a very convenient way to store your ammo because it is extremely sturdy! Two fifty-round boxes of 9 mm through 45 caliber ammunition can be stored in this case
5/5

Each round is designed to fit into one of the 100 holes or spaces available. The lid is well-fitting and allows for minimal vertical movement. My 9 mm rounds fit the best with the back (flat end) of the bullet resting against the case's bottom. If the case is jarred, the rounds will no longer 'wiggle' in place. However, I quickly changed my mind. Despite the fact that my fingers are of 'average' size, I had trouble pulling the rounds out when they were nose up because the curved end left little to grasp. While each round now has some lateral movement as it rests on its nose, removing each round is now very simple. A larger round, I believe, would fill each hole more completely and almost completely eliminate lateral 'jiggling. '.

For 9mm ammunition, these are great little boxes
5/5

I have a number of these types of ammo boxes from various manufacturers, and my favorites are the MTM case guard boxes, which have real hinges rather than the little plastic web that some other boxes use - They do not wish to remain open - It's always half-closed on the lid. These MTM boxes have a lid that stays in place - It will rotate 180 degrees and remain in that position. I'm also a fan of the semi-contemporary style. blue plastic that is transparent so that the ammo inside can be seen - You can tell how many rounds are in there by looking at the number. br>The only thing I don't like about the boxes is that the latch and hinges have rather sharp corners. I usually remove the lid from the box and sand the latch and hinges with a small piece of sandpaper or emery cloth - The edges can be rounded in as little as 10 seconds. These boxes are used to reload my ammunition, which is what I do with them. I usually put the cartridges in with the bullets down and the primers up, and I don't mind if they rattle around a little. In any case, you're going to shoot them. Other reviewers who complain about bullets rattling appear to be a little OCD - So, primers up or primers down, whichever works best for them - The box can be used in either direction. br>These boxes are strong, light, and make good use of available space - They're also easy to stack. What else could you want? br>At the current price of $3, I believe these ammo boxes are excellent value. The 9mm boxes have a rating of 95. Mine arrived less than 24 hours after I placed my order, thanks to Prime shipping.

The MTM cases are extremely durable
5/5

I bought four of these to store 9mm ammunition, and they're very sturdy. The plastic is thick, and the hinges are strong, as they should be for holding 100 9mm rounds. I'm not sure how sturdy the cases that hold 45 are. br>br>The dividers inside are thick enough to strengthen the entire case, and the dimensions are ideal for 9mm, allowing you to easily remove them while keeping the case itself small. I can't believe there are so many rounds in such a small space. br>br>The cover fits snugly over the top of the contents, preventing them from bouncing around. The labels included will be useful if I ever remember the brand/grain, but given the current scarcity of 9mm, that will be a long time. br>br>Overall, I'm very pleased with the case; it's sturdy and compact. factor, which contains just the right amount of information.
