The figures on the ruler aren't etched. I haven't had mine for very long, so I'm not sure how well they'll hold up over time.
Only one side of the item has been engraved.

I use this all the time because I need a measuring board with 1/4 inch increments for most tournaments, and this one has that. It's also held up well to my weekly use. br>br>I use it when fishing from the shore, in a boat, or in a kayak. I'd like to see one like this with the numbers and measuring marks engraved rather than painted on the board.
32in. The Frabill Bump Board 2 (415530). 5 in. 32in. If you have a minimum or maximum size limit, this is a must-have. It is simple to operate, maintain, and store. One thing I've learned over the years is that if you're stopped by a DNR Warden and this is what they're looking for, you'll want something to check for accuracy.
", and for the size 32" at a fantastic price!" br>Some markings were smudged or missing on mine when it arrived. In fact, the markings were embossed/stenciled INK rather than Laser Engraved. I purchased the item after reading the reviews and reading the description. The quality of Frabill's products is well-known. Perhaps the item I received was part of a new batch that wasn't engraved. As a result of the high cost, it will be returned as soon as possible because it is incapable of measuring large, bloody fish. cleaning that is necessary.
I went fishing with it once, and the measurements are no longer visible! They need to be carved into the walls. It is not worthwhile to purchase. Garbage.
I used this board twice before removing it from the boat because the black writing had faded. It is of no use to me. Numbering and lines must be etched in, or a higher-quality paint or ink must be used.
For accurate measurements, good quality and design are essential. I used it in fishing leagues and competitions, as well as to make sure my catch was legal.
My husband has been using it to gauge the size of the fish in preparation for tournaments. The numbers on the bumb board vanished when they were used, which was a disappointment. To properly measure the fish, he had to draw a line on the board with a marker. And the paint on two of his fish washed away, disqualifying them. Not good.
It appeals to me a great deal. It comes along on every fishing trip with us.
