Questions & Answers

Are strange men less likely to follow me at night if I wear it?

When you are visible carrying this, it is no wonder why men will only follow you if they are

What kind of belt loop does the sheath have? Please let me know if The knife will be connected horizontally or vertically when it is connected?

In short, yes. A belt loop is in the middle of the pants. If the knife hangs straight down, the orientation will be true

What can it be used for? Chopping wood?

Definitely. I used it to cut through a 4" thick tree that had fallen and it worked just fine. Bladesmithingically, the mid-seventies were a great time to be a bladesmith This blade is geared more toward chopping than cutting or slicing due to its high carbon content and beefy blade profile. While still holding a fairly sharp edge, it cannot hold a very wide

Does the brass guard and brass pommels have glue attached to them?

Pins are hidden well, but you can still find them. I like it!

I included a picture to illustrate its size alongside my hand in case you are not familiar with measurements
5/5

Weighing only 3. 4 oz, the handle feels very sturdy and comfortable to hold. I am shocked at how thick and sharp the metal is! This leather case attaches to my pack easily and is great for every day use. A single gal can easily pack this and take her small dog backcountry backpacking in Texas without having to worry about hogs, coyotes, cougars, sasquatch or tremors.

That was well worth the effort
5/5

An unqualified 5 star rating. I do not own or own or own or own or own and hold the best knife ever made, Because it is everything it is advertised to be, and it is exactly what previous reviewers have said it is as well, I am giving it 5 stars. My point of view is the same as theirs. The payment for 19 dollars was made. If I had to pay that much for a sheath alone, I would. The sheath is the primary reason I purchased this knife, and I was given a free matching knife as a bonus. When handled correctly, it cuts, it stabs, and it does massive damage. I like the balance, and I like the way the handle feels in my hand. There is a chance it will rust in 5 years, but not when the knives cost $500. The point is what matters is not what matters! If you buy five of them for $100, you will have a lifetime supply.

It wasn't a major investment since it was a nice, sharp blade as long as it wasn't a "project
5/5

" My rating is five stars, but I understand why other people may give it a lower rating. Knowing it would probably be a "project" as long as it was nice and sharp and did not have a "Made in China" stamp on it, I purchased No description of the country of origin of the knife can be found anywhere on it, nor was it known as a very sharp knife. On the basis of the very severe patina on the brass, I believe these are "new/old stock" knives. Based on other reviews on this site, I had a feeling that would be the case, so no big surprise. After polishing the front and rear quillions, I simply painted several coats of Birchwood Casey Perma Blue on each side. In fact, it almost looks like copper because of the patina that developed. It looks very attractive. I then applied a few drops of Fiebings British Tan leather dye to the grip scales to freshen the finish. With this new design, the knife really stands out. Sheaths are made of leather. I mean, it's not top notch, but at least it's mostly leather. Since I didn't trust the rivets that hold the belt loop on, I removed it and installed a screw in stud in its place. Authentic bowies, like this one, were carried like this anyway, and it just looks much better today. It's gross) I simply installed some rivets at the mouth to keep the blade tensioned. Now it will only come out if I pull it out of the sheath. Thus, I have a razor sharp Bowie that is under $20 and looks and is very comfortable to carry. It has only been less than two hours since I received the knife. A total of one hour was spent on this "project. " A good deal of that time was spent polishing the logo down to an almost invisible state. The knife is good if you take the time and care to keep it in good condition.

Is there anything I can help you with? The weight is a good fit for me
5/5

As a result, it does not aid in making it comfortable, but instead further amplifies the chop effect when used in a swinging As a camping knife or a knife to be used in general for forest areas, I would recommend this knife for use in combat situations, but not for combat. Since I sharpened it, it is the sharpest it will ever be, and cuts easily through vegetables and meats of any thickness. As you can probably guess, I use it to prepare food while camping. I have only used it once or twice at home to test it and it worked perfectly. It is a great deal if it is on sale, so get it now.

So, here is my first proper knife
5/5

I mean, this is my first hunting knife. With a little more money, you could buy a knife that is extremely well made. However, for the money I paid, I was especially pleased. Knives made from this material are extremely sturdy, sharp, and look great in the sense of their Clearly, the knife I got was used before, like the knives I saw a few customers have. A stain is visible on the bronze areas, and the sheath was scratched. You might want to look somewhere else if you are concerned about how new a knife is. Those who don't care about the condition of the knife, but only care about how rugged and sharp it is, intact, and how cool it looks, should definitely purchase this knife. And like Mick Dundee said, "Now, that's a knife"!.

I just bought a knife for 20 dollars that is razor sharp out of the box! My comment that the blade was razor sharp right out of the box was not facetious
5/5

The knife is great, but it doesn't always make it to the store. A knife I have can be sharpened to shaving sharpness, but it can't be used to skin a whole beaver before it becomes Most of the time, getting it sharp is not an According to the Amazon product description, the steel is 3CR13 The term has been mentioned before, but I have not researched whether it is similar to other steels used My feeling is that it feels sturdy and balanced right out of the box. My only purpose for purchasing this was to use it as a wall hanging for a project that I am working on. A close fit and tight tolerances are found between the blade guard and hilt, which is large, but not excessively so A nice blade grind can be found here, as well as a finger loop that allows you to grab the blade. There are two straps and a belt loop with a sturdy buckle. The sheath is made of real leather. However, since this will be hung on a wall and probably won't be used for batoning or cutting firewood, I think it would be better to have a 1" thick blade with the associated weight, but in a bind, I would probably carry on with There's a chance I'll get another one and use it for bushcraft. Considering I paid only 20 bucks, I believe I got a knife that could be twice as pricey.

Taking it equally
4/5

This review has a low price, so you need to keep that in mind. When you keep it sharp, stainless steel is fine, but only so long as it's not bent. Out of the box, it doesn't look sharp. Though the handle scales feel nice, they are slightly off and the metal tang running through the handles is not flush with the scales, which could cause discomfort when used for a long time. Also, the handle scales seem to peek out of the handle slightly, which again could cause a little discomfort over time. Despite the price, the blade comes with a satin finish which looks decent, but it is not flawless, which is to be expected. The leather sheath is also genuine leather, which is refreshing to see since most knives in this price range come with very cheap nylon sheaths. If you're just looking for a tool to use when camping or hiking, then this is a nice purchase at $20, but not something I would fully rely upon.
