br>This is an unacceptable problem that Garmin does not appear to want to address. Rather than validating the algorithm, they have chosen to'stand by' their claim to be the best, which is extremely disappointing.
The scale appears to be functional, and the WIFI has been reliable. We tried several times to switch the user, but each time the weight of the wrong person was sent to the wrong user. To cycle through users, you must "tap" the side. That was a rare occurrence. br>If the wrong initials appear for a user who isn't on the scale, take a step back and quickly bend down and place your finger under the scale, lifting it 1mm off the ground and letting it fall back to the ground. If you do it quickly enough, you'll be able to cycle through the users and avoid sending weigh-ins to the wrong person. This is how my $150 scale registers a "tap," which is pretty lame. br>br>Data appears to be in good shape; I haven't compared it to anything else yet, but it does appear to be consistent.
If this is important to you, don't buy. This scale is wildly inaccurate if you care about metrics other than weight, such as body fat percentage or BMI. On the Garmin forums, there is a lot of discussion about its accuracy issues, and it doubled my body fat from other tests for me. 2 as a sportsperson I'm a 31-year-old marathoner who is confident in my 5-year-old daughter's ability 8% other device readings are more accurate than the 2018- 20% of the Index S2 Scale was given to me. As a result, I now own a high-priced scale that measures my weight. I'm going to have to ignore the other stats that are incorrect.
This scale appeals to me immensely. It's extremely simple to set up, and you won't have to think about it much after that. When I wake up in the morning, I simply step on it and go about my business. In the Garmin Connect app, all of the data appears out of nowhere. If you already have a Garmin product, such as a watch, this is a great addition. As a gift, I recently received a nice fitness watch from a different brand. I still wear that watch, but I use the Garmin Connect app to check my weight and other metrics recorded by the scale. Don't think you're stuck with the Garmin ecosystem because there are a few apps that will sync Garmin Connect weight with other services. I must admit that I prefer Garmin's software to that of the other watch brand I purchased, but it was the top of the line watch, so I use it.
I'm glad I switched to a smart scale at some point. There are a few options, but I went with Garmin because I'm already a member of the Garmin Connect ecosystem, so it syncs and saves all of my data right away. It improves the quality of training. br>br>One disadvantage is that, despite the inclusion of carpet feet, this scale will not work well on carpet. If that's the case, you'll need a solid hard surface to lay over the carpet and beneath the scale. Fortunately, I have an extra bathroom that I almost never use, so I just threw it in there on the floor. Just make sure it's level, because it's very precise, and if it's not, it can give false readings. br>br>It can also be a little finicky to turn on, or it will do an odd hourglass thing before turning off. The hourglass, I believe, is a rebalancing script that is assessing the stability and re-balancing the system. zeroing. So it's not as simple as simply stepping on a scale. However, I can get the data I need in less than a minute by sending it directly to Garmin Connect, so it meets all of my requirements.
Aside from that, this scale has every metric you'll ever need, plus a few you'll have to learn to use. In the Garmin environment, it is completely seamless.
It does exactly what it says on the tin. Allows me to keep track of my statistics on a daily basis without having to write them down in a notebook. If you're a fan of the Garmin ecosystem, this is a great option.
It's also a big plus to be able to track multiple people.
