This tourniquet is, in fact, made in the United States of America.
The most noticeable difference is that the CAT gen 7 has a heavier windlass, a stronger buckle, and a gray time strap.
We do sell the Genuine Gen 7 CAT, but I can't speak for the others.

I'm a cop from Houston, Texas, and when I arrived at the scene of a shooting, I discovered the victim laying in a pool of his own blood on the sidewalk. He was hit in the left thigh by a bullet. I was able to show the bleeding and he was transported to the hospital, where he later survived. br>br>The tourniquet deployed quickly and intuitively, and I was able to show the bleeding and he was transported to the hospital, where he later survived. He would have died if the tourniquet had not been applied in time, according to doctors. br>br>I can't say enough good things about this product!.
I didn't like the price; it's a shame that such a basic life-saving device is so costly; being in law enforcement, putting together an active shooter go bag is costly; the more tourniquets, the better; yes, it's worth saving a life, but it's not cheap.
It was used after a few months of purchase. When I arrived, I had a radial arterial bleed that was being slowed by belts. Before using the windlass, I wrapped this tourniquet around my waist and tightened it as much as I could. This product is credited with saving this man's life after he was loaded onto a helicopter and flown to a level 1 trauma center, where he required three units of blood. Quality that has been tried and proven!.
off. Yes, this is the genuine article, not a knockoff from China. And it's truly one-handed operation. Five stars!.
This item is single-stitched and appears to be made of very low-cost plastic. Made in USA is nowhere to be found on the paperwork or the turnicate. The windles are made of plastic, and the buckle is made of plastic as well. It's hard for me to believe I paid $30 for it. I'd like a refund of my funds.
I bought a CAT from Amazon, which was shipped to me. I had faith in their ability to sell a genuine, high-quality item. When I got my package, the CAT was sealed in clear packaging that appeared to be legitimate, except for an open slit where the folded instructions appeared to have been placed. Water damage appeared to have occurred in one of the corners of the instruction page (ink was smudged). I thought to myself, "Hmm, strange," and hoped that it was just a one-time occurrence, and that the packer had slipped the instructions back into the package. When I opened the CAT, however, I noticed a 1 inch long bundle of loose threads emerging from a buckle and strap joint area. That was quite concerning. I believe there should be no signs of improper stitching on such an important piece of equipment. At the very least, something so obvious would not go unnoticed during a quality control inspection. The black velcro strip on the windlass locking mechanism (the black velcro strip adhered to the plastic clip that the grey velcro sticks to) was the next point of concern. The black velcro strip is adhered to the plastic unevenly, so there are some gaps where adhesive appears to be missing. I have a less expensive tourniquet that is well-made in this area, with no gaps or signs of poor adhesion. br>br>In conclusion, I'm returning this CAT because it is of poor quality. I'm very suspicious that it's a forgery or, at the very least, a faulty CAT. It could be a fluke, but I bought directly from NAR to ensure I was getting the genuine article. Why take a chance when buying something so important? With the exception of shipping, they are the same price.
Everyone should own and be familiar with a life-saving device. Don't be fooled by lower prices; they aren't all the same. North American Rescue sets the industry standard, and paramedics and law enforcement officers use it.
I hope I never have to use this tourniquet, but if I do, I am confident in its dependability because of its reputation. Windlass turns reliably, and Velcro holds well.
