Let's get this party started, shall we? Is it possible for me to make a break for it? Yes, absolutely! Here's the thing: most tactical packs are designed to keep emergency supplies on hand in the event that you need to flee quickly. With that in mind, you won't be putting a lot of weight on this machine. Consider getting something with a frame if you want to be a pack mule. This pack has plenty of space and a small selection of Mollie rigging to round it out. Is a water bladder possible to include? There are a few places you could put them, but you'll have to be inventive to keep them in place. I'm currently attempting to secure a 70oz camelbak inside. The zippers are made of plastic and glide along a metal track. They appear to be durable enough for everyday use so far. Right now, I'm using it with my family on day trips. It contains a variety of basic necessities, as well as raincoats and snacks. There's about 25 pounds of stuff in there. So far, everything has gone well. If necessary, I will amend this review.
Originally, I bought the black one to hold my things and stuff for my service dog and had it on the back of my wheelchair; however, my husband also liked it and wanted one, so I purchased a purple one and gave my husband the black one. I'm wearing the bag more now that I'm learning to walk again and using leg braces. It not only holds everything I need for my dog and me, but it also makes me feel comfortable. The strap keeps the bag on my shoulders and distributes the weight evenly, allowing me to be more comfortable. When I wear it, it throws me off balance. While I've discovered that this bag isn't completely water resistant, which is a bummer, everything else about it makes me happy and I'm in love with it.
First and foremost, I did not purchase this for 'tactical/military' purposes. I, too, was not interested in something that looked like that. However, for an emergency go bag, this is the best type. The one with the most pockets and hooks was the winner. The main divided zippered middle pockets are one of my favorite features of the bag. I've attached some photos. A good product. It came with a detachable velcro decal, which I was able to remove. I'm thinking of making my own from Etsy to make it look more outdoorsy and less military. But I'm happy with it just the way it is for my use as a go bag in case of natural disasters/tornadoes, etc. It's always good to have important documents, water, food, and other essentials on hand. It appears to be extremely strong and long-lasting. Just a quick word on the color. Although I purchased Red, some of the strap pieces appear to be orange in color. It's fine for me, but I just wanted to let you know because it caught me off guard. Also, when I first took it out of the PKG, it had a strange chemical odor, but that went away after a few days. I also like the top handle.
Excellent backpack, ideal size, but that was not my first impression. To begin, I'd like to state that I ordered a red backpack to hold all of my first-aid supplies. br>When I opened the Amazon box and took out the plastic bag, I was disappointed to see black cloth inside, thinking to myself, "ARGH, they sent me the wrong color, and I don't have time to deal with an Amazon exchange right now. " So I opened the plastic bag to double-check that it was even the right model backpack, only to discover that I had been staring at a large black drawstring bag inside the plastic bag. The Red Backpack that I had ordered was in the black drawstring bag when I opened it.
I'm a bag aficionado. I keep a number of them and use them for travel, recreation, logistics, and convenience. This bag appears to be of good quality. The seams appear to be strong, the zippers and pulls are functional, and the molle webbing appears to be durable. The bag has a small waist belt that can be used to secure the bottom of the pack to the wearer, but it is not designed to transfer weight from the shoulders to the waist. Because the padded shoulder straps' webbing is sewn into the bag, you could put the shoulder straps in the back pocket, but the webbing would dangle off the bag unless you cut it off or wrapped it and secured it. Overall, it's probably a good bag for someone who will use it as a backpack all of the time.
The Blue colored pack, on the other hand, was excellent, with everything as expected except that it was packaged in a zip lock bag rather than a LHI pouch. I ended up returning the Blue one anyway in order to take advantage of the Primeday discounts. I did, however, purchase a Blue for the second time. After that, there will be a Red LHI Tactical pack. br> The Blue backpack arrived today (6/22/21), this time in the LHI pouch, and LHI's Customer Service Department contacted me. Ivy, a Customer Service Representative, assured me that this was a one-time occurrence. She sends me a free replacement LHI Tactical backpack as an expression of the company's regret. She's genuine, and she assured me that the company's top priority is customer satisfaction. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with the LHI Customer Service Department; they responded quickly and went above and beyond to resolve the issue, particularly Ivy; thank you, Ivy. br>br>7/21/21 UPDATE - Thank you, Ivy, for the replacement backpack, which arrived today on time and in perfect condition.
I needed a larger bag to transport all of my Scoutmaster gear to meetings and campouts. br>br>I bring this to every Scout meeting every week and to every campout, which is roughly once a month. It has been abused, abused, abused, abused, abused, abused, abused, abused, abused, abused, abused, abused, abused My only gripe is that it's a little too long for me to use as a hiking backpack because I'm only 5' tall. After a mile or so, it lands on the wrong side of my butt/hip area. br>However, the fabric has proven to be resilient. The storage capacity is almost (almost) excessive (I'll admit, I've misplaced a few things due to the abundance of possible locations!). In a backpack, that's an incredible problem to have. br>br>After a year of carrying it around, the color of this bag is still a vibrant purple. When we stop for lunch at the mess hall, the Scouts can quickly recognize my gear and rally around it. I just set it down, and they'll know to look for the purple when it's time to gather. If a Scout needs a pen, paracord, or papers at camp or at a meeting, I can give them specific directions without having to stop what I'm doing.
