Questions & Answers

What is the origin of the product?

It stated on the box that it was made in the United States. A stamp is nowhere to be found on the tool itself. Besides the Gerber knife, I bought a box marked Made in China for the Gerber knife.

Is this carried in the line of duty as a breaching tool? As a LEO, I would like to hear your opinion on it's efficacy when it comes to breaching. ?

They carried it with drugs and a SWAT team. There are certain tools you will never need until you actually need them. Although it takes a beating, the thing that draws the most attention is its architecture. It is fine to use a crow bar, a fixed blade knife, etc.

Is it capable of cutting logs?

After I sharpened it it cut anything I tried! It came fairly dull but once I sharpened it it will cut anything. Applied to the back side of the piece is a knurled striking surface that can be used as a hammer or a wedge for splitting logs. My favorite thing about this tool is how quickly I can handle it and keep it under the backseat of my truck.

For this device, there are 2 model numbers 30 and 32 I am 0071530- Do you know what the difference is between 000792 and 000793? Do you know where gerbers' site is?

Only one thing I could find is when this feature was introduced to the site, it required credentials. The Gerber website was public when it first appeared and Gerber probably never removed a copy.

I think so far it's going well
3/5

So far, I give it three stars because I use it for work. Although I would give items a higher rating, there are a lot of things that go into determining the rating. There is no doubt that performance is the most important factor when it comes to work-related In comparison to other I use, the price of this one is less than others. There are several smaller companies offering (US made) breachers, ax's, that perform well, and are offered at a much lower price. The sheath for the ax blade is good, but the molle sheath was not available. For holding it in place, I used regular molle clip webs. When it is appropriate, I will update this rating after 6 months Please find attached a photo of how the stock molle sheath looked before I threw it Despite having a vehicle, I was not able to make it to work.

In terms of forcible entry, there is a BETTER tool There's almost no chance of doing so
5/5

This was purchased for me by my wife (Corinne). In contrast to some who think this will help fight the zombie invasion at the end of the world, I have a more practical My profession is that of a firefighter and I am always looking to try The fact that Gerber had designed this for the military piqued my interest. Based on my research, I decided that it was worth my time to give To make it clear, I mean In terms of forcible entry, there is a BETTER tool The ability to breach just about anything with a set of irons (that is, a combination of a flat head axe and a Halligan bar) is so powerful that it is nearly impossible to defeat them. However, there was something I wanted that was lighter. Usually, as a company officer, I grab a short hook and my radio when dealing with an incident. Because it is small and lightweight, I was able to attach a shoulder strap to it to allow me to readily carry the tomahawk at my side while wearing full Having this tool will allow me to use a pry/chop tool when looking for fire extension, a self rescue tool to use when dealing with fire, and, more likely of all, a forcible entry tool so I won't need to go back to the engine. A case in point would be Having forced entry to a steel door with a steel frame (typical in apartment towers or condo buildings) while checking for open windows and keys under mats was the most difficult part of the procedure. Someone needed to grab the irons, so I told another firefighter to get them. Taking the chance to try a little tool while my husband was getting them, I decided to go with him. It was after all a matter of time. There was a small gap at the end of the pry, so it fit in there. It would have been necessary to drive a halligan into the gap with an axe Because the end was angled and the hand grip was on the end, it made it easy to turn more than full length against the door and pry it. With its tomahawk, the downrange weapon ripped open the deadbolted door in a matter of seconds. It's not that I don't agree with you Although the Irons would have also been useful, this is a tool I carry in my pocket all the time. The light of God is the difference between darkness and Because it is covered by the lifetime warranty of Gerber, I am not worried about it breaking. I'll say it this way In spite of crews acting like fools at shift changes playing with tomahawks, I would keep this in my pocket. I think there are areas where improvement is needed To make the handle safe, I will cut a gas shutoff into it.

Ensure you're prepared in an emergency with the right evacuation bag
5/5

Since the invention of bread, this tool has revolutionized business. I will admit that it's not very good for slicing bread, but that's not its In case of emergency, it comes in handy. In this case, it is used for my go bag (or is it a 3) be prepared for the next natural disaster. If you can't make your own entryway into a room or smash through a windshield with your water purification bottle and tarp, what's the point of bringing energy bars, a deck of cards, zip ties and a tarp? However, the only use I have had for it was to pound 3x5 cards Inch nails through a loose dock plank (like butter), cut some Ivy (almost perfect), throw it at a tree (success at throwing, but mostly fails at sticking), and cut a banana (not a recipe for success). Having such a balanced score, I give it a 7 It would be easy enough for a five-year-old to use (don't tell my wife about that). The design appears to be tough and clever. I can wear it on either side of my bicycle What's in the bag? (Or should it be.

The price is too high and the quality is not good
3/5

There is a price difference of at least 8X for this product In my mind, I saw that I had been ripped off and paid $192 delivered. There is no snug enough fit between scabbard strap and axe to carry without axe flopping around the clasp on the scabbard is detached the revet on the scabbard is missing There is a good deal of wear and tear on the materials and craftsmanship. In the handle of the axe, there was an axe screw cross-headed In addition, the axe blade is not sharpened, this threaded axe is not worth anything. It's blunt to the core! As Gerber circles the toilet bowl, it looks like he's gaining speed. The company must have been bought out by a private equity firm or something. Whetstone sells a $20 stainless steal survival axe that was similar to this one for $20. This is shorter, smaller, but it is of better quality and so much cheaper, I could have purchased close to ten of them for the price of the.

The pry bar is made into an axe with reverse balance by making it a pry bar
3/5

The pry bar is made into an axe with reverse balance by making it a pry bar. In this case, the balance of the axe is completely reversed. You can see it by looking While the steel handle is wide at the bottom of the axe head, it is ultra light at the head. You should also consider the way the axe is designed for you to grip. If you hold a good work hammer with your pinky finger, it will be just an inch below the bottom of the The pinky of your forefinger will be 5 inches away from the bottom of this axe. If you swing this axe, you will not get the normal top heavy centrifugal force because your hand is too high and there is too much weight concentrated in the handle. When you have a lightweight axe head with a huge hole, this is the last thing you want. However, it had to be done all for a combo axe and a great deal of work went into it A pry bar is used. A great deal of attention to detail went into the build of the car. If both are really required, then this would be the purchase of choice. I felt that the tradeoffs were too great for me. X-Com 3 would be better if it had an axe version. If it were available, it would be an instant hit.
