I find this to be a beautifully loud and solid call. I do not fear magnets ever popping off the call.

My overall impression is that it is a good deal for the price. I heard all the turkeys this morning, and my neighbor asked me if I heard them all. Having missed a flock of 10, I told him he missed out. Then I would create sweet turkey sounds as he sat on his porch every night, watching for turkeys with binoculars. So far, I am enjoying it quite a lot. My hunting skills may even benefit from it.
I purchased it prior to going on my first turkey hunt ever. As I didn't know what I was doing outside of a couple of guys who showed me how to do a hen sound, I wanted to use that. The minute I made the first call, I was contacted by Tom 15 minutes later and he was on his way to me. It wasn't five minutes later when I shot my first turkey! Call seems to have been successful! This has been a wonderful.
I like what I hear on the call. I liked how easy it was to use, and I thought the magnet thing was genius! This was until I blown my locator call early in the morning on the second day of the season, and a huge Osceola turkey rattled the woods with a loud gobble a few hundred yards away from me, a few hundred yards from my stand! The magnets on my call were not easy to slide together. I reached into my vest to do it that way, but it didn't work. There was a problem with the magnet on the call--it had pulled out of the top piece and wouldn't go back in! Using it, he made a couple of awkward sounds, and then he was gone. What was the easiest way to fix it when I returned empty-handed? Yes, a dab of Gorilla glue and a few hours to set up and I think it will work just fine. Do I have to worry about a hunting product from Primos that I put my trust and money into not working in the wilderness? Not at all! Here's a suggestion from the guys. Use some glue to ensure quality. It would be nice to have another opportunity this year since you just cost me a turkey!.
Despite my name, I am not a hunter - well, I am, but I only hunt Having to sit on my front porch is now my only option. I often see turkey in the field across my little road, as they fly in from their roosts near daybreak, eat a bit, then go into the tree line that borders the river and take a bath before returning to the field an hour before dusk. Just to be able to communicate with them, I bought the call. . . In fact, straight out of the box, there were a few yells and calls, and the Toms reacted accordingly. That was a thrilling experience for me, I must say. . . They remembered to answer the phone from somewhere in those trees even in the middle of the day! As I sit on my old front porch, I will be able to offer my guests something to try!.
$24 is the price I paid for it. Based on the craftsmanship involved in the building of it, I think it is a steal at 50 dollars. My objective was to get a better sound from it by rubbing off the chalk and dusting it with rosin. Within a week, I'll get to see how it goes on those wild turkeys in the woods.
This box call was purchased last spring to use for turkey season. Made a lot of noise when used, but also works as a gobbler. I had a bit of difficulty getting the birds to gobble, but I was able to bring them in fairly close if I was set up where they weren't. Those old Toms are going to be fired up after hearing this call. This was used to draw birds to me, and then my mouth call was used to sweet talk them I like the box call and the magnetic top is helpful for detaching the call so you are not bothered by little mice or squirrels strolling to your door. My big Tom came on the second day of the opener and I think this call was a crucial factor in doing so. There is also a bag of chalk included in the call.
Play it loud! Box calls are an old-world tradition that this modern style is a version of. As described in the video and advert, the magnetic top makes the stroke pressures and sweeps more precise. The top remains aligned and allows the user to adjust the stroke pressure and sweep in a reliable manner. When you need it to get loud, this call will get loud. Practice can also help perform it in a quiet, subtle manner. Use a gobble band if you want. using it to bring a distant Tom to me, and then I switch to a mouth call, and then it pops.
I am very impressed by the quality of this. The concept behind the magnet for keeping everything aligned is brilliant! This call even allows you to gobble when that's what you want. Keep the top chalked (included) and you'll be making noise in no time.
