There are at least 20 deer who pass through my backyard every day, so I put this in my backyard. They didn't show interest in it after about two months, so I left it out there. The weather has become much cooler here, so I decided to bring it inside and put it outside later when it gets colder. While outside it turned much more orange, so it's currently sitting on a shelf looking cool for the time being. In November, I might be able to generate more interest when I re-release it. I am going to assume they are getting enough salt in their diet and not the salt block if they are not interested.

love watching the deer at the salt lick in our yard due to the deer living in the area. We have had more rain and spring rain than average here in South Carolina, so I was curious how long it would last. It was about 4 feet high when we cut it. Using the roots, we turned the plant upside down and used it to hold salt. My husband added a small wire "hammock" to hold the salt when it gets smaller since it will naturally fall off. I will buy more from you in the future. As I am getting a third one in a year, it is a great price for the pleasure we are receiving.

I have seen plenty of trail camera images of deer (bucks and does) cruising through the area. Despite the salt lick being closed, nothing has stopped. Perhaps over time. The salt lick has been in the backyard for two months now. The results thus far have been disappointing, and I wonder if this is a gimmick device. But it will take time to find out.

It hasn't been much of a review, except for the deer which came to this area every night to lick it. I haven't been able to break my game camera from the tree yet and don't seem all that upset. Despite the fact that I had a bear knock over the stump/wood block that was connected to it, 3 racoons jumped into action to stop it from falling over.

This rock was chosen so it would have a similar appearance to other rocks in the desert, and it has served its purpose to provide minerals for the raccoons and all other animals that visit the surrounding area such as foxes. It seems that the only thing else I have seen in the area is the little ground squirrels.
