Questions & Answers

Does the C/M on the size chart mean that the sizes are bigger or smaller?

Although the boots are great, as long as they leak in two seasons they are not worth the price. They will fix them, but you'll have to pay for shipping and inconvenience to get a $450 pair of boots fixed.

Does this product come from the United States?

They are made in Italy according to the pair I own. The fit is exceptional. A very comfortable chair. There is no break in time. *br>The only downside to even mention is that the straps on the back lack finger holes This is a worthy investment.

Is this kind of boot rated for outdoor temperatures above freezing? In Wyoming, we have some extremely cold temperatures. ?

A 20 below rating is assigned to them.

How does Kenetrek's customer service compare to some other companies?

The customer service was great! I sent a boot in for repair and it was back quickly, so shipping was all I had to pay. Despite the fact that representatives are extremely friendly and helpful, they are quite firm.

Have you decided whether or not these boots are There is a possibility that it won't happen
3/5

After having the Kenetrek Men's Mountain Extreme 400 insulated boots in my possession for over a year, I will be able to give a comprehensive As with others who have reviewed this product, the first thing I noticed was how uncomfortable the This is horrible. However, that could easily be remedied with a pair of high quality work boot Despite my size 10 1/2W, the boots fit well right out of the box and had a comfortable fit immediately. There is a brief break in period to adjust your feet to the new shoes. After about 20 miles, I felt my tires were broken in. My boots have now covered about 700 miles and are still as comfortable as ever. There are no signs of wear or breakdown of the foot bed or any other aspect Approximately 50 percent of the tread still remains on the sole. My boots are remarkably warm, and are comparable to several hunting boots I owned that weighed more than 800 grams. The WintexTM waterproof barrier did not leak water even while hiking and hunting exclusively in an extremely wet area (Kodiak, Alaska). The boots were relatively clean and I used Kenetrek boot treatment periodically to prevent water from getting inside the boot. At first, the tongue of the boots will be stiff, and this is where some breaking in is I like how the tongue tucks into the side of the boot and folds over easily, and that it laces up securely to provide good side support. I also love how strong the eyerings and hooks are, and I don't think you could accidentally break one. There was a lot of effort on my part. While on extreme side hills, I experienced very little heel slide with the boots, as the ankle support is very good without being too stiff. During side hills, I did experience some pressure on my heels where the rubber rand overlapped the back stay, but I did not suffer from bruising or blisters. Having said that, there are some disadvantages to a boot made for extreme mountain conditions. A boot intended to be used in a variety of wet, icy, and otherwise slippery conditions should have a sole and tread pattern designed to adhere to the surface. This pair of boots is the opposite of those other pair. I nearly wiped out the first time I went on a hike on every single wet stick, rock, limb, root, and rock It seemed like every step was the same. Fortunately I had my trekking poles with me and had a couple of extra surfaces to grip when one or the other foot Slick boots have been in my collection before, and I have found that they usually improve with wear. This pair of boots is not acceptable. It's been a year and I'm still sliding and slipping all over Kodiak, but being the stubborn man I am I refuse to give in. In the event that they no longer have any redeemable qualities by the end of their somewhat useful lifetime, I will throw their happy asses into the nearest bin This pair of boots is suitable for people who live in dry climates with no slick surfaces that may interfere with their movements, such as dry grass, dry rocks, dry sticks, or dry sand. You may want to consider alternative boots if you live in Alaska or the Pacific Northwest.

The boot is well crafted
5/5

Since I haven't had the boots long enough to give a comprehensive review, I can't comment on them. However, once I removed the insoles, as I always do with all my boots, these boots were great out of the box. There is no way I could wear the insoles provided. I find the arch to be too high. There is plenty of space in the toe box. These boots fit true to size, and you can see the quality is exceptional. I wear a 12EE, and they fit true to size. The longevity of these boots remains to be seen, but I expect them to last for many years to come.

The money is well spent
5/5

Since discovering my old boots were killing my feet in the fall and summer, I spent the fall and summer scrambling to find new boots. When the season is upon us, I get out and walk despite my size. On uneven ground, these boots have allowed me to put many miles on them. I have never been able to wear a boot like this but the sole makes them far superior to any other They allowed me to hunt so hard this year that I never would have been able to do it I have yet to wear a better pair of boots. It only has one downside it makes traction on wet ground a bit tricky because the sole is stiff. As a result, I can't feel what's under my feet when I'm standing on a stick in the wet grass as I could with This means that you should be more attentive to where you are going or where you are standing.

These boots are a big hit with my husband. arthritis in his legs, and these boots have provided him with the best support his feet have ever received. I should add that my son and his wife have both bought a pair of these and are very happy with Each member of the family agrees that they are the best boots they have ever owned. Hunting, hiking, and just relaxing here are all great things to do. They are very happy with them and I would definitely purchase them again. Neither water nor mud can get inside.

The fit is excellent, the comfort is excellent, the construction is excellent, the purchase is excellent

These were worn for an hour as I walked around the house. It felt good to wear the boots. As I walked, I wore merino wool socks over two pairs of base layer socks

I also wore two pairs of heavy socks over them. I wore these for 75 mostly flat miles with a mix of sand base and asphalt. We were walking on clouds. There is no discomfort in the foot. The shoe fits perfectly. The boots I will be wearing to hunt elk in December are these.

A great boot I have found so far
5/5

A great boot I have found so far. When I was working for Danner, I frequently preferred their work boots until I tried black Kenetrick work boots and was blown away by their My hunting boots, which I ordered shortly after, had the same great fit as the boots I ordered previously. Its ankle support is amazing, like the support in downhill ski gear, and it also provides me with good support from my high arches. Having the boot on my feet feels like it was custom made for me!.

This boot is incredible
5/5

From the start, I was amazed at the level of comfort. Though I have only covered 25 miles in these boots, I am confident they are a good investment. A medium pair of Merino socks and sock liners are on my feet. Though I have blistered a little with the heel lift, the new lacing strategies and double socks have reduced the damage. This boot is of exceptional quality. I am looking forward to seeing how long I can make them last. I was stressed out by sizing because I wanted it to be It was just a little extra room I left. were the only parts of the boot that made contact with the ground. I was glad I did this since there were some steep descents. This boot is incredible. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'll be hearing from Frank church about their wilderness comping soon.

They are great boots right out of the box and are extremely comfortable. As soon as I got them, I went for a walk of 3 miles. My favourite thing to wear when I go hunting in the fall I can't wait to try them out.
