These are the kinds of rigs I bought because I did not want to spend a lot of money on name brand machines. Every time I purchase a more expensive device, something breaks and I face the necessity of trashing it. Tip ups can be built cheaper but the price is ridiculously low. They come set with tip up line and are easy to set, and they come with a spool already attached with tip up line. You need only get a leader, a hook, and some bait to start In the future, I will buy more.

tip ups were great for what they cost

The flag did sag down twice, but still made it a bit easy to know that something was there. Each time they fired the flag, it went up perfectly the other 3 dozen times. A bucket of powder laundry detergent will easily fit 14 of them. A bait box and other equipment are needed. I would estimate that there are about 8 in a 5 gallon bucket if you stack enough gear under where they will not The device is compact and easy to install. I find it to be very.

There is no freezing of the reel

There was an issue with the flag in the package
