It is not possible to answer this question at any point in the auger where it has a flight that is the same size on the other side of the shank. In our universe, the largest flight has a radius of 2" therefore, if that flight went all the way around, its diameter would be 4". Using the largest point as the center, measuring the diameter using the flight to the other side and then down to the center would give you 3 5/8" in diameter. It is my hope that you find this useful. Feel free to let us know if there is anything else we can assist with. I liked the quality, the description on the listing that enabled me to complete my project, and the price was reasonable and shipping was fast. I was able to build two anchor posts My savings of $100 over the prior year were due to 84 They were made by hand. The 10 foot 1 I purchased is a brand new one. The PVC post is 5" schedule 40, 2, it is 2-inch in diameter. The above is a kit of five 5" stainless steel 3/8" lag bolts, washers, lock washers, nylock nuts, and a 1" spanner. The connector is a 5" PVC "T". Using PVC glue and 3/4" stainless steel screws for the "T" connector was also a fun project. The 3/8" holes were drilled in the aluminum and everything was constructed in plastic.
The tube came out in a straight line. There are other great augers as well.
You should check these out! I used the 4 augers I got to make two sandbar anchors and two sandbar tables. Is perfectly suited for the 1's. I got five pieces of pvc at Lowe's. It's great stuff at a great price, and I like how light it is.
The two ropes are attached to the bottom of a PVC tee and can be used to anchor a 20 foot boat at a sandy bar. Holds tight in muddy bottom and screws down easily.
It's nice to have you around.
I built my own boat augers to dock on sand bars with it, and they work perfectly.
I used it both as an anchor and for an umbrella stand/table on the sandbar.
