Unfortunately, this set is currently unavailable, and I am glad I had acquired a second set of these before they were taken down. The tools in this set are not bad for traditional fly tying. It took a simple paper towel to polish the brass up to a nice shine and the tools work perfectly now. One thing I don't like about the hackle pliers is that they are very stiff (this style is usually stiff). Two sets come with rotary whip finishers (one large one in one set and one smaller one in the other set In the other set is a smaller one). The smaller one is easier for me to use, although the larger one works just as well. In addition, I used the second set to separate the combination threader/cleaner tools into two separate instruments, one from one set was used as a threader and the other to clean the bobbin. I prefer to do it my way, even though it is not necessary. As a side note, the little three is very handy. One of my favorite tools may turn out to be the 3" bobbin. I must point out that this review is essentially worthless if the seller does not offer the item again in the future. As a result, I have added In any case, it's still cents.
This is an amazing pair of It was when I became really interested in tying that I purchased this set. There are extra holders for bobbins, so I got it for that reason. Sadly, they did not make up for the weaker elements of The tube entry point of the thread had sharp edges, and one of the ceramic pieces had an edge on the inside. They cut my thread due to their sharp edges. Using some of my glass tying beads and UV glue, I was able to fix the issue. It has to be the scissors that make this set so great! The scissors here are fantastic. I have paid for one set of scissors the same as this whole set, and the scissors in that set don't even come close to these. If these scissors were the only thing in the set, I would buy it again.
The tools kit that we chose came after we looked at several pages of them. This is true for both the price and The case that keeps them all together is also a nice touch. It is an absolute delight for him!.
In a nutshell, As someone who has just begun learning how to tie flies, I need a set of tools that is easy to carry around and Upon receiving it, my first impression is that it's a beautiful box made of wooden, very artistic, and I like the fact that it doesn't take up much The storage compartment makes it easy for me to place my staff at the end of The box has been in use for a week and I have tied dozens of flies with it. I love the ease of use of the tools. With a vise, you can clamp the hook firmly onto the fly. I'm able to tie small hook 18# flies as well as large 2/0 # flies. This book would be ideal for those who are just learning to tie fly flies, or for sending as a gift to a friend who is interested in fly Over the next few days, I plan on buying more sets for my friends.
The price is very reasonable and it has nothing fancy but it is functional. A set like this costs less than one pair of fancy name brand scissors alone if you are a beginner. Getting started with one of these kits is the best way to get started, so do yourself a favor and get one. At the end of the day you have lots of options, but first you have to decide where to begin. It would be wise to start here.
The item photo looks much like the set I used to have in a pouch with elastic to hold the individual tools. There is nothing to keep the tools from falling out when the pouch is opened - it's just an envelope type of thing. Their action was to do so. In this pouch, there is no way to organize the tools. Furthermore, the bobbin threader was badly bent and unusable when it arrived. A dubbing tool would have been preferable to the second whip finisher, too.
I purchased the set for the purpose of giving it to a young friend who is interested in learning to tie flies. In this case, it will serve the In any case, I need to invest in a storage container so the tools will not damage each other when they are not in use.
Our husband has just taken up fly fishing, which is why he wanted some ties made for himself. In addition to the items he needed, this kit had plenty of other tools, too. Gift that is perfect for any occasion.
For beginners, this kit is a good choice. There was one Bobbin that was defective. The hole through the ceramic tip appears to be filled with glue or was not manufactured correctly. It will not let thread pass through.
