As a starter kit, you get a lot to practice with before you get the best gear. It's not that I think you can't start buying the best right away, but I'm sure you will break the bank if you do. This kit came highly recommended to me for making treble hooks for surf casting poppers, micky's, castmasters, and plugs. As you can see in the vice, the trouble hook is a 2/0 4X vmc and it holds very nicely.
